NO RLY! I lived next door to British folks for quite a while. We did our usual 4th of July bash and they came over for some beer and fireworks, and they told us about Guy Fawkes Day and how it was sort of like their version of Independence Day if we had to compare.

With one major difference - you guys got independence at the end of yours - we lost 

Perhaps you simply need a perceptual change.  you might consider it unended instead of lost.

Ron Paul really DOES hate the constitution, BTW.  Specifically, article I, sec 8; all of article II, and amendments XIV and XVI.

He's also one of the kings of pork.

He has no business holding any office higher than dog catcher.

'course not.  he never had a chance to be selected.  But i voted for him anyways on friday, so i feel fine about it.
i gotta admit. for a while during his campaign, my cynicism took a break.  But, it's back with a vengeance now.

Well, i went ahead and took your advice.  I went to the dollar store today and bought some extra stale old dubble bubble 'gum'.   I looked for the chocolate coins fortified with melanine, but couldn't find any...

incidentally, last year there was a group of three moms accompaning thier children to the door, two of which were old enough to say 'trick or treat' but one had the aforementioned itty bitty baby dressed up and, since it was towards the end of the night, my wife was being pretty generous with the candy and stuffed a gobb into the two kids bags and then when she started to stuff a gobb into the bag of the lady holding the baby (she had to be 250 lbs, easy), the lady said 'Oh no! he can't eat that much candy!'

i assumed that it is the dow jones index because it is cleverly labeled that.
