I honestly hope they deny aid to California, because Newsom has suggested that doing so would lead to California denying the fed payment of taxes.  I'd definitely like to see California keep that money and use it to fight fires.

As TTSS has already kicked Loomer to the curb, I don't see her attack on his USCEO going anywhere. And, I'm now not optimistic that TTSS, or any of the other members of the First Crime Family, will cut themselves off from the assets of the richest prick on the planet. Right now, I think they're all just too greedy to even seriously consider the possibility.

As full of nonsense as Loomer usually is she had some very good things to say about just why Musk and Ramaswami support visas for skilled workers, it's not because they want the best talent, like they claim, it's because they don't want to pay high wages and she backed it up with numbers and sources.

I got a big kick, and a smile out of your reply. It reminded me of the time, years ago, when a friend and I were confronted by a small "mob" in an open, very public place.

I WOULD NOT BE ALIVE TODAY, AND WRITING THIS REPLY if I, or my friend, or both of us had been visibly carrying any type of firearms. And, that's because that small "mob" (Six young men.) already had their automatic weapons in their hands, and aimed directly at us from close range (Three steps out of my reach, and two steps out of my friend's reach.), before we even knew we were in any kind of trouble in that open, very public place.

And, that was also the day I came to the realization that a gun ain't worth JACK FUCKING GODDAMNED SHIT, if it's not loaded and in your hand well before the other guy(s) can get one(s) in his/their hand(s).

That mob was explicitly not a lynch mob, how do we know that?  Because you and your friend were not lynched.

As you pointed out a bump stock weapon is less accurate than it would be without the bump stock, so against one victim it doesn't give the mob any advantage, even if every member has one, meanwhile it gives the outnumbered person way more chance to kill the members of the mob. 

In your case, if you had been armed you would have probably been killed, which was not the outcome the mob you were facing was hoping for, meanwhile for a victim of a lynch mob, if they are unarmed they absolutely will be killed because that is the outcome the mob is looking for.  If they are armed they will probably still die, but they have a much higher chance of taking some of their killers with them.

I admit it, I love making fun of Steve Bannon. Still, there are times when I unexpectedly find myself in agreement with a political enemy on a particular issue, even though we're both seeking totally different "big picture" end results. And, what Bannon had to say in the following article is one of those times:

I gave up trying to find a couple of succinct quotations that clearly summarize the contents of this article. Nevertheless, Bannon does clearly explain why he advocates taxing the rich. Further, Bannon's calculated appeal to populism is something the Democratic Party, leftists, etc. need to study and emulate.

I think if Trump followed this playbook, increased corporate taxes and taxes on the wealthy, along with actual middle class tax cuts, whether that's the over time and tip ones Bannon is talking about, or simply reducing income tax on the lower tax tiers, that he'd be setting up the kind of long term thing Bannon also talks about.  Even if the middle class ended up paying more in taxes, because of tariffs.

However I can't imagine that's what's actually going to happen. The tax plan that I am hearing about includes more cuts for the wealthy and from what I hear the overtime tax cut consists of removing mandatory overtime pay.  Those actions will alienate the folks who supported him and probably lead to Democrats taking Congress in the midterms.

I have never fired a rifle equipped with a bump stock. But, it is my understanding that bump stocks severely reduce the accuracy of such a rifle. So, that make a rifle equipped with a bump stock unsuitable for target shooting. In any case, automatic, and even semi-automatic rifles can not be legally used for hunting game in, at least, my state. (There used to be an exception allowing handicapped hunters to use semi-automatic rifles, and that exception may still exist.)

So, what is a rifle equipped with a bump stock actually good for? Well, as has already been well proven, it's a great choice for an indiscriminate mass shooter.

mutual aid, localism, taking care of your neighbors and building in person connections.  That absolutely can include local politicians, but anyone above a municipal or county level is too big to be worth considering.

Well sure, and you can be angry at folks who didn't vote all you want, but that doesn't inspire them to vote.  Meanwhile a candidate that actually speaks to their desires probably would.  Offering to put Republicans in the cabinet, pledging to be the toughest on immigration, and otherwise courting conservatives didn't get any of them to vote for her.
