2. If you want something done, do it yourself.
3. While doing something yourself, dont be surprised to see other people working toward the same end.
4. Regardless of how good you are at saving things and keeping a reserve, eventually you will be forced to use everything you got.

11. Maybe Logic suggests the barstool might not be there; Occam's Razor suggests that you should duck. Or at least study Kung Fu.
Possibly more to come.
Possibly this list can be refined even better.
lmao @ 'possibly'
IT CAN ALWAYS BE REFINED
maybe even reduced to a single letter
upon focusing on the letter THIS ENTIRE LIST WILL COME BACK like a blossoming flower (<--- poetic imagery)

I am in love with point 11 right now.
That one stood out to me as well.

1-10: Yes.
11. :mittens:  A perfect meme, upon understanding you reach enlightenment. Or something. Its our very own zen koan. "There is a barstool, and there isn't a barstool. Answer: Ducking is a good option."
In terms of quantum possibility the bar stool misses head, collides with head and passes through head spraying a red wave function on the wall behind head. The quantum reality where the barstool misses is rendered irrelevent by the second 2 possibilities which occur simultaneously and can just be distinguished from each other by someone who's recently ingested a strong psychotropic.
quantum physics doesn't work on the macro scale.
Didn't we have this conversation already?

Prolly best not take that into account when reading. Not so funny then.

8. Martyrs are not respected.
9. People who allow themselves or others to be lulled and stimulated into submission are in thier own submission.
10. If you broadcast a perspective to enough people, eventually you will find somebody to oppose it; also, they could be right.

12. IT CAN ALWAYS BE REFINED
maybe even reduced to a singularity.
"Fix", as they say.
thats fuckin dope man
thanks for popping this back up again
and the refinement was NICE
could you imagine that - a list of well-informed warnings instead of a list of rules?
lol
imagine what the 10 commandments would be like if they were the 10 warnings instead
the 10 pieces of advice
the 10 things that if you do it, you can expect some repercussions
people only play themself when they act a fool
It IS a good set of guidelines for living.
SBOTD, anyone?
I think it most definitely should be in it.
i think the refinements are fine, as bolded bullet points, but it would also be nice to have some elaborations next to them in smaller italic print.
elaborations are useful to people 'who werent there'
ive learned that lists can seem cold and unwelcoming
and too much elaboration can get sloppy
--a happy medium somewhere
Heh, how about a short essay on each of the numbers?
how about "The Eleven Bibles according to LHX" ? :-D
essays
anecdotes -- i could see it both working
1 could be a story about a kid who won his school track and field, but then went to the regionals and finished 17th
2 could be a story about somebody who decayed while waiting for somebody to do something
3 could be the legend i wrote in that other thread that SillyCybin dint like
4 could be a story about a dude who spent years trying to hoard a supply and then some catastrophic event occurs and his surplus is gone in no time because either couldnt watch people starve to death, didnt have enuf bullets, or did have enuf bullets but got overwhelmed by hungry people who didnt hoard anything
etc
etc
a sort of "LightHouse X say..."
Confucious-esque
It would be a cool addition.
maybe an MS-paperclip style white flag with a balloon:
"i see you're trying to get something done. may i suggest doing it yourself?"
You mean, as one of the "picturememes" in the SBOTD?
uh .. possibly?
what do you mean exactly? it sounds like a good idea.
Oh, I was just thinking about the allegories that Confucius wrote, how they would lead to a moral conclusion, which he would state at the end. Its an interesting idea, for me.
I can't find the ones I am thinking of, but I found the analects, the collection of sayings:
http://www.sacred-texts.com/cfu/conf1.htm
Do you understand?
