Edit: It should be said about this to either be a RAW project gone out of control or simply a marketing gimmick

I just finished reading session three.  Some of it is fairly interesting stuff, the rest of it makes me think the guy went catatonic because he got a few too many barstools broken over his head.  Also, I have yet to listen to the radio interviews, but it somehow saddens me that this was not as real as it was purported to be, with that crazy foreword and all.

I've read it.   Not bad at all and I recommend it.

Listen to the radio interview,
Part 1 (http://www.greylodge.org/gpc/?p=89)
Part 2 (http://www.greylodge.org/gpc/?p=90)

It's too funny.  They're talking with Ben Mack over the phone, asking him if he's really Howard Campbell, he denies it, then he goes "OH SHIT!!" and the connection cuts out.  Ten seconds later, the guys phone rings, and it's "Howard Campbell" except it's the same voice as Ben Mack.

just before i might go printing this out, what is this book actually *about* ?

Uhm, before printing it out, realize the PDF is 358 pages long, although the text is rather large, you still may use a lot of paper, unless you work at Kinko's.  In which case, print two, and get them bound, send one to me, I'll pay s/h.

Anyway, the book is a transcription of a series of conversations between a psychiatrist, and Howard Campbell, the close friend of a catatonic patient in the doctor's care.  The doctor wants to know his patient's history, and Howard goes on to explain his friend's interest in everything from Buckminster Fuller, to devolping what he calls a "healing meme."  This is not all, there are quite a few plot twists that make it even more worth reading.

1. i live in the netherlands, so (supposing you're from the usa) not sure if you wanna pay shipping :)
2. free printing at university [can you believe the CS sysadmins are the only ones incapable of implementing a printer quota system], though this is a large one, i usually print large things in a few goes, 40-60 pages at a time, mostly for not hogging the printer queue as well as not raising too much suspicion [it's sort of "fair use/dont abuse" rule, i guess]

Just route sets of 60 pages to a few different printers in the lab.  That should get it done pretty quick.  Also, the font of the PDF is large, like I said.  It will lessen the print time to print two per page, and it still won't be too small to read.

yeah that's right, i must figure out how to put 2 pages on one (and still make it come out right), no reason to waste too many trees :)

I'm on page 50 which, if the font was normal size, would prolly be about page 20 and so far it's shaping up nicely.

I think the issue isn,Äôt in keeping patients on Lithium, but finding a solution
where these people experience a life they find works for them. If being on
Lithium isn,Äôt working, maybe finding ways to keep people on Lithium isn,Äôt
the solution. Maybe there is a better way than Lithium.

I found the effect of Lithium disconcerting. I thought differently. Lithium
kept my ideas in Attacca. It didn,Äôt let my Nacireman self dance with my
Attaccan self. I know Lithium was the drug that caused this effect, because
after a few weeks this was the only drug I was on.

I found Lithium turned my head into a plodding machine. I never had
runaway thoughts. I never thought weird tangents. I thought about one
thought at a time. My mind was simple. It wasn,Äôt creative. I was less
motivated. My sex drive was negligible.

After all these years words cannot express how it makes me feel to find out someone else noticed this.
