Stephen King's Crimson King character in the his final Dark Tower novel was a huge disappointment. I kept imagining Tim the Sorcerer from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Of course this was a huge improvement over Tolkien's Suaron who never actually appears in the Lord of the Rings except as an abstract. As bad as Jordan's Wheel of Time is at least his Dark Lord presents a real danger to the protagonists.

You ---> 1 philistine. Do you use that brain in public?
Where else are they really usable?
Okay, not to backpedal but I read Dark Tower in high school, which feels like ages. I really enjoyed the first few, but didn't have the attention span for the later sidestories that seemed to dispense of the intruige of the earlier plots.

Hmm...maybe you should stick to anime?
Won't hurt your brain as much.
Actually, that's exactly what I did in high school.
I got better.
Also, to be fair, "It" made me laugh like a mofo.
God = thy Worst Dark Lord Ever. Totally sabatoges paradise and dooms the world, but He takes no pride in it, blaming all things evil on his alter-ego: Ed McMan.
I can never get hold of the early Dark Tower books. Honestly, every time I go down to the library there are key books from the series missing. I mean, I could just pick one up and hope for the best, but I tried that before and ended up not having a clue as to what was going on.
I also liked Sauron. He wasn't your Darth Vader sort, cheapening his presence by turning up to challenge every two bit wanna be hero with a magic sword. He had minions for that.

I gots the 2nd to 4th in the dark tower on my bookshelf, cant find the first one....
Also reffering to the O.P. the dark lord in wheel of time doesn't present any danger to the protaginists at all, directly. Hes still locked up in his little prison after 11 books at least.
My vote is for Simon Cowell.

Best Dark Lord was The Unraveller "Rakoth Maugrim" in Guy Gavriel Kay's Fionavar Tapestry . Simon Cowell gets my vote for worst of course.

UNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG!
Flagg > Crimson King
Though I only read The Stand and not even a single Dark Tower book.
Randall Flagg: Pleased to meet you, Lloyd. Hope you guessed my name.
Lloyd Henreid: Huh?
Randall Flagg: Oh. Nothing. Just a little classical reference.

AL-QAEDA leaders in Iraq are planning the first ,Äúlarge-scale,Äù terrorist attacks on Britain and other western targets with the help of supporters in Iran, according to a leaked intelligence report.
Spy chiefs warn that one operative had said he was planning an attack on ,Äúa par with Hiroshima and Nagasaki,Äù in an attempt to ,Äúshake the Roman throne,Äù, a reference to the West.
Another plot could be timed to coincide with Tony Blair stepping down as prime minister, an event described by Al-Qaeda planners as a ,Äúchange in the head of the company,Äù.

Nothing against Mr. Lee. My beef is with Lucas and his twats who decided to scratch Asajj Ventress as the DLOTS apprentice for EpII. She would have been far superior imo. Instead they made her Dooku's apprentice for the novelizations. Animated is all fine and dandy, but she was still the only one to kick Anakin's whiney bitch ass.
I had to look that up
you out geek me any day of the week
:?
I have to admit I was lost too and I'm a pretty avid Star Wars geek.
I was debating whether Dark Helmet counted as a Dark Lord or not. At least Rick Moranis is funny. The Crimson King is just plain pathetic.

I like this one better.
My personal worst Dark Lord would have to be my pet kitten. He tries to be so evil, but then goes off and plays with the babies cot-piano thing.
The best has to go to the Crippled God of the Malazan Book of the Fallen series. There's a badguy that doesn't only want to destroy the other side, but his own side at the same time.
