After seeing the POEE podcasts and some of your guys things on youtube a silly seed has been planted in my mind.
Is anyone here old enough to remember when news was presented as strictly factual with the intention to allow people to form their own opinions from information presented in an unbiased format? Me either.
Well, here's the idea. A weekly newscast. Does anyone here know the inner workings to get press credentials? Those could get us access for interviews with people who would otherwise ignore us out of hand. Open, fair, honest interviews presented in simple fact. Of course a commentary section would also be mandatory. There are enough of us spread around to have a diverse base for news. No hype, no sensationalism, just facts presented from different angles.
Well, like I said, just a silly seed of an idea.
Discordia sans Editorial
It's a great idea in theory.
The problem with letting people come to their own conclusions is that 90% of the time, they will come to the wrong conclusions.
Needs resources, but it could be interesting.
Radio Free Discordia?
I'm going to get some recording equipment over the summer, I suspect.
Finally had enough of my annoying American accent fucking up your rants, huh?
Well, that and I want to try recording and messing around with some of the stuff our band does. I mean, should we actually ever get together and practice again, and still actually be any good, of course.

Concensus isn't the point is it? Getting the mental gears turning is. If they have to come to their own conclusion without being told what it is in advance like it is now, at least they're thinking.

Not bad. That could lead to a lot of different topics being brought up in a discussion type format. Of course the 'discussion' would have to probably in the form of e-mail or IM, with the questions being read by the anchor and then answered. It wouldn't just have to be news.

i mean most of them will come to the conclusion that they should probably just watch FOXNEWS and leave the thinking up to somebody else.
but i'm a pessimist so don't let me shit in your cheerios.
Thats why you tell them what are badwrong thoughts. Or at least the most obvious examples thereof. And then laugh at them. Like this :lulz:

I like this idea. There's a few of us that have the recording equipment and such. I think it'd be cool if we could do some sort of collaboration project whether it be this or something musical.
Objectivity?? In MY LIBRUL MEDIAS??
I'm actually for the idea. I should have some spare effort units over the summer.
I can help anyway I can
but will have to be in the summer
right about now I don't even have the time to keep up my blog
Seems to me this is a good idea in theory. However, I think objective coverage is practically impossible, simply in things like the anchor's attitude, what you choose to cover, etc. Could you really cover something like Fred Phelps protesting Jerry Falwell's funeral with a straight face?

Would you WANT to?
Correct faces for discussing Phelps: contorted in rage and/or laughter.
