Has any started working on this? It's been discussed in the sticky, but I haven't been able to find much else.
That's because no one here is funny.
So far I got monkey soldiers, 4-eyed two mouth'd aliens and a mushroom cloud logo (as sported on my avi) and and assortment of taglines and announcements.
Something will prolly happen eventually. If it's entirely down to me then expect that to be later rather than sooner.
The only things so far that I can think of off the top of my head that could be used would be some of Cain's Apocrypha, and Enrico's Parable of the Golden Bull.
The rest of the Funnay around here tends to be situational.
Actually, I have a kernal of an idea for this, but, I will not be able to sufficiently develop it until this major project at work is out of the way. So, look for something sometime in July.

That's true, but I'm sure some of the members here could write something funny that would fit quite well in lollercaust(needs a better name). Cain, Silly, Hunter, RWHN, LHX maybe TGRR, and others I didn't mention or don't know have probably written something appropriate already.
I'll do a Search after graduation practice 8).
The problem has always been, doing the funnay on command.
I suggest that a good premise is all that's needed to get the funnay balls bouncing. Like if the booklet appears as a guide to preparing for the ROBOT REVOLUTION.
Yeah, but it's not about being funny for being funny. The original intent was to be funny, but convey Discordian ideas, as well.
I think practicing Discordia and preparing for the robot revolution are identical activities.
Tin foil hats, for instance.

I'm planning something along those lines, done in the style of one of those JW's pamphlets

Surely funny in itself is a discordian ideal?
Srsly tho - my whole take is parallels, robots and monkeys = two aspects of greyface/cabbage. The inevitability of it all. How funny it is when you look at it right. Plus play it all like a parody of religion.
I'm not sure about the robot thing though I would be interested in reading anything that was worked up. I do, however, see a Wango Tango marginalia meme being appropriate. Perhaps it could be our Mr. Motomoto.
The old timey pix with alternative text on them is a cool idea, but too bad marriedtothesea got there first.

true, but that doesn't mean we can't use it. We just can't use his form of it.
Getting back to that Old Time Discordia might be a great premise for a book. Harken back to a period which didn't actually have Discordia.
that might be a good project in itself - visit different historical periods and talk about how Discordians worshiped back then. Like how the Native American Discordians were the only ones who could figure out how to use every part of the buffalo.
And in medieval england, the Discordians invented "sink" by tossing people into rivers. When later asked why, they claimed that those people were witches.
"a period which didn't actually *have* Discordia"? (emph. mine)
Holy shit. That's like...fairytale land. Neverneverland without Hook and the Croc.
(i.e. didn't ever exist)

lollercaust should be:
LIKE the pd in that it is full of different, apparently unrelated tangents that may or may not have a common underlying themes
UNLIKE the pd in that somewhere (probably near the end) these tangents begin to be tied together into a single paradigm (or some word that works better than paradigm).
robot revolution = good material.
medieval discordians = also good material.
in fact, let's just let cram write the whole thing and then call it a "collaborative effort by common proxy."
Chaplin Sinatra Fonzarelli once suggested the Illuminati, Assassins, Surrealists, Freemasons, Jacobins, etc etc were all Discordian as fuck historical movements, when you looked at them closely enough, so thats good source material. In fact, he named a ton of them in a post, I'll go find it later on.
Propaganda spread by Mothers Against Discordianism... Think of the videogame propaganda "violent videogames make kids violent," etc, plus the whole freaking out about information on the scary intertubes... Children are illegally downloading the PD! Now they are trying to imitate it and use pineal glands and ZOMG WOULD SOMEONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN?!
It was funnier when I was still in the shower.
We have some of that knocking around...we need to collect it into the Propaganda Depository though.
What happened to CSF, anyway? Did he get the re-vite?
He vanished off the face of the internets, AFAIK. His livejournal was suspended and everything.
Which is a shame, cuz he's the perfect person for Lollercaust.
I'll steal his email using 1337 admin powerz and email him, maybe. Or just send out another newsletter letting everyone know we are here still.
The thing that makes stuff like married to the sea so funny is the fact that it takes the iconic and adds the unexpected twist. Same with those pix of airplane pamphlets and military signals that have been done up to be something completely different, more like a satire and less serious business.
In fact, most 'shopped material is just that: realia that has a meme added that is not relative to the original subject matter but still twisted into it to fit and cause a comic reaction. (esp if you're of a particular sick bent of mind, ahem)
Any and all of this would be good lollercaust material--there's already plenty of it ON here. Prof Cram creates moar and moar everyday. A compendium of these gems could be formed so that a few could be spattered into each issue of the BIP.
*shrug* Just a thought.
make lollercaust a recurring attack column in the magazine

I spoke with Fonz online maybe a 6-12 months ago, sounded busy.
I haven't done much searching but I did write this:

You think shit like this would fit in Lollercaust?

Why are there rings around the broccoli?
The broccoli comes from the planet saturn
Yeah but...oh nevermind.
