thanks !
By the way - "Schody" means "Stairway" in english - and this song (shortly) is about building your own new stairway to heaven.

Hey there Mat.

To be bluntly honest, it's not really my favorite kind of music, but your guitar sound is very rich, and your voice is killer.  I really like the rough, emotive quality of it.

More singing, please.

Also, watch your timing.  Your tempos seem to shift unintentionally.

LMNO
-hope that doesn't come off sounding bitchy.

Bitch.

LMNO is one of the few musicians who haunts these boards, so his advice is meant to be helpful, not critical, Matragon.

Incidentally, I like your music enough to have downloaded the tracks available.  I've only listened to Schody so far, but the rest will also be played, in due course.

FYI guys, I emailed matragon and he sent me moar.

He's got frank zappa tribute stuff that I'm loving, and is of course in english, but of course I know not all of you are capable of appreciating the genius of Zappa noise.

The ones he sent me are from a recorded live tribute concert.
Zoot Alures
Suicide Chump
If only she woulda (love this one)
Black Napkins
The Torture never stops
Plastic people
and road ladies.

According to the labels though song #5 is missing from 8 possible tracks that I have.
He's holding out on me!

What songs did he cover?!

This is full tracklist of our show, during last year "Zappanale" Festival in Bad Doberan, Germany :

- Zoot Allures
- Suicide Chump
- If Only She Woulda
- Black Napkins
- Bobby Brown Goes Down
- The Torture Never Stops
- Plastic People
- Road Ladies
- Happy Together
- My Guitar Wants To Kill Your Mama
- Muffin' Man
- Whippin' Post

The fact is that track 9 is originally by The Turtles, and 12 by Allman Brothers Band, but You all know that Zappa performed this songs too. So we decided to play it on our show too. Now we prepare some more Zappa - for another tribute concerts (for example : "Peaches En Regalia", "Sexual Harasment in a Workplace" or "Chunga's Revenge")
Zappa is my guitar hero, and some kind of musical guru - so that's why I decided to play his music from time to time. Of course - my own music is on the first place, but it's great to play Zappa for fun and for music :)
"We're only in it for the music" ...

I haven't listened yet, but I'm impressed enough by the fact that someone posted a link to their music here and didn't get ripped to shreds that I'm going to have to check it out.

ATTN: Matragons new song has been listened to and judged by I:
Short Virdict: Cheesy, but definitely doesn't suck, and it reminds me of 'Yes" without breaching copyright while taking full advantage of kopy-left.

:mittens:
On ya Matragon, Keep up the good work

in Fact - it sounds like Yes ... specially when we started singin "come with me" ... but it was my decision to sing it in that way ... it was kind of tribute to Jon Anderson & Chris Squire (vocals harmony) :) and chords in this part are similar to "Starship Trouper" from "The Yes Album"

Anyway ... "The Sacred Chao" is a compilation of some parts of Principia Discordia (lyrics) ... and a compilation of some music archetypes we love :
from Peter Gabriel to Yes with some Crimson or Pink Floyd connections ...

We prepared this song consciously in this musical shape

Some very good stuff there. I especially liked the singer's voice - it blends very well with the other instruments. Admittedly you could be saying damn near anything, but it sounds damn good being said

A (very) minor quibble - the guitar seemed a bit flat in the mix, as if there was only one or two tracks of rhythm guitar. Sometimes that sparseness was great (the moodier pieces especially) but it seemed rather empty when it started to rock out a bit. Also, as a bass player, I tend to be very nit-picky with bass tone. The sound was pretty good, but was a bit punchy for my tastes - however, I like a really thick, mellow, warm tone with minimal attack (I like the notes to swell up from the subs rather than punch people in the gut) which isn't necessarily appropriate for the more rocking stuff (I play funk/R&B/soul).

All in all, great stuff  :D
