1After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven. He had great authority, and the earth was illuminated by his splendor. 2With a mighty voice he shouted:
"Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great!
She has become a home for demons
and a haunt for every evil[1] spirit,
a haunt for every unclean and detestable bird.
3For all the nations have drunk
the maddening wine of her adulteries.
The kings of the earth committed adultery with her,
and the merchants of the earth grew rich from her excessive luxuries."
4Then I heard another voice from heaven say:
"Come out of her, my people,
so that you will not share in her sins,
so that you will not receive any of her plagues;
5for her sins are piled up to heaven,
and God has remembered her crimes.
6Give back to her as she has given;
pay her back double for what she has done.
Mix her a double portion from her own cup.
7Give her as much torture and grief
as the glory and luxury she gave herself.
- Revelation 18:1-7
When Saint John the Mad wrote those words, he was referring to Rome...but are we not the modern-day equivelent? Regardless of whether you worship a hairy freak like Jehovah, or Eris, or the Cosmic Muffin, some things are just plain WRONG. It is becoming more and more obvious that America has gone irretrievably mad, and (like all mad dogs) must be put down. In this rant, I will attempt to make the case against America, and anyone who chooses may attempt to defend the rotten thing.
Peoples' exhibit #1: The US Constitution, failure to adhere to;
In the last 207 years, the American government has shown an INCREASING trend to ignore or flout its own constitution. EVERY single amendment in the Bill of Rights(save #3) has been violated at least once during this administration alone, as follows:
Amendment I: Faith based funding, "free-speech zones", just to name two.
Amendment II: Contrary to the GOP's usual stance, Bush has signed no less than four laws controlling guns. Regardless of how you may feel about firearms, this is a clear violation of the language of the second amendment.
Amendment IV: The PATRIOT Act has effectively gutted the 4th amendment, by allowing warrantless searches.
Amendment V: In the cases of Hamdje and Padillo alone, both were denied liberty without du process of law...they were neither arraigned, nor released.
Amendment VI: Again, Hamdje and Padillo were denied counsel (Padillo FINALLY was allowed to speak to a lawyer last week, after nearly 2 years of confinement.
Amendment VII: The RICO Act allows the federal government to sieze assetts by suit, without trial.
Amendment VIII: "cruel and unusual punishments" have been documented at GITMO, to include various tortures (sleep deprivation, enforced standing for 20 hours, sensory deprivation, etc).
Amendment IX: Gay marriage, for example, is a right inclusive in amendment IX. Needless to say, the government HATES this amendment (strangely enough, most Americans themselves do, as well) almost as much as the next one.
Amendment X: Resolution 114 (the unconstitutional resolution to allow the president to wage war on Iraw w/o a declaration of war violates this amendment. All three branches of the government overstepped their bounds.
Other violations include amendments XI, XIV, XV, XX, and no less than 12 violations of the main body, but you get the point.
Peoples' exhibit #2: Corporate scum, an infestation of:
I will assume that the evils of Halliburton is a given. I will also assume that most people know that, for the last 5 elections, the top ten contributors have contributed to BOTH partys' campaigns. Should these NOT be self evident, I will be more than willing to discuss them.
I will also assume, under the same conditions, that most people understand that Wackenhutt and the other private prison corporations are up to these days.
I will further assume that most people understand that if you or I stole a car, we'd go to jail for ten years...yet Ken Lay walks free.
I will make one last assumption; that most of you are fully aware of the impoverishment of Americans via corporate "offshoring"...may Carly Fiona fry in hell.
Peoples' exhibit #3: The American public, Greyfaceness of:
I refer this subject to the insane ravings of the missing Reverend Roger. I think he has nailed this one down.
The prosecution rests.
Or to put it another way, we are living at the end of the season of Bureaucracy and signs ofthe End Times are beginning to appear. Soon will come the Aftermath and the return to Primal Chaos.

Yes, but sorry; no 10 headed monsters. It turns out those were just allegory.

Awwww, man! I wanted to teach each of the heads to humm a different note and get the whole thing to sing Apocalypse Now.

Who is allegory? Do you know this person/creature?
Isn't allegory your long-lost second cousin from the left on your brother's side of the family?

I thought that was what he called his goldfish.

Lest anyone think the Duchess is kidding about this....take my word for it.
I changed her little diapers and she does indeed have two random and misplaced dimples on her lower back.
She must have been adopted. :roll:
Amendment VIII: "cruel and unusual punishments" have been documented at GITMO, to include various tortures (sleep deprivation, enforced standing for 20 hours, sensory deprivation, etc).
I guess electrocuting, gassing, hanging, shooting or paralysing someone to his death don't qualifie as cruel anymore.
....what somehow gives me a very absurd thought (don't ask me how): "imagine a GI walking into the Guantanamo prison with like 2 kilo of C4 around his waist, blowing himself and the al qaeda guys up.....wouldn't that be heavy discordian?"

now that is beautifully eris-attic......
Ouch!
Wouldn't that be painful?

No, I am not the Reverend Roger. He's on the lam...I am a fellow member of Evil Geniuses for a Better Tomorrow, the Subgenius clench that he founded, though. All that remains of that once proud clench is myself, Pope Papist, GYDOOMG Bob, and Andy the Asshole.
On the other hand, I DID wind up with his 'Puter, and his CDs & DVDs when he left...

Only for a minute or two, Duchess.
Its time for the SOL to make a comeback.
::cracks his knuckles::
I, myself, am an american. I see myself as being a patriotic american, or at least I strive to be. This invariably means struggling against the status quo. Being patriotic often means hating the government, and hating the system.
The government is corrupt, and probably has been corrupt for a long time now. (At least as far as the kennedy assassination.)
I'm pretty sure that Ronald Reagon, Bush Jr, Bush Sr, Nixon, and Eisenhower are all the taces of the same evil which laid its long term plans before many of us here on this forum were ever born. There is enough visible strategy between those administrations to substantiate this claim.
Peaceful reform is the best thing, but things will probably come to a head someday when the US pisses off the wrong place. On the other hand, I dont think any foreign power would ever be able to control north america because of street gangs and crazy militia types.
Thats one reason I have absolutely NO fear of terrorist attacks, and never did. If there was a high level of terrorist attacks, and if one was even successfull and strikes ifs target, if the government was toppled... the civillian people of the continent would still thrive.
I think this country breeds some crazy mother-fuckers.
Apocalypse?
Bring it on.
PS. National Borders are bullshit anyway. I dont believe in objects being permanent once they past the boundry of my senses.
