You know, it's common courtesy around here to explain WHAT THE FUCK YOU'RE ON ABOUT. You're not going to get a GASM off the ground by having me hunt through inane banter about OMF, shopping and "the man" just to figure out what the heck it is you want.
heh, careful. The locals are restless.
Hey Rev Retail Therapy. Read your blog, looks like you're up to some interesting hijinks, but I'm not sure exactly how to participate. What's the scoop?
Well the deal is, for those of you unwilling to read past the first post on a blog, I am a mystery shopper ( i think in the USA I would be a secret shopper, who knows) I get paid to go and assess the merits of a company's staff and things...
so in order to try and level the playing field - i intentionally rate bad members of staff positivly, infact glowingly... to the extent they could get a cash bonus...
thus liberating the evil corp of their money in more than one way - and making life a little easier on some poor chump stuck in a dead end job
and I get paid to do this
does that make sense?
and to participate you have to go and get yourself a job as a mystery shopper!! its really easy, I just had to fill in a few forms online... take an open book test...
i can help people in the uk find suitable companies, i am not so sure about the USA though... i am sure google will tell you what you need to know
to become a mystery shopp you do not need any qualification, and you never need to pay - people saying that are probably scammers

awesome, as someone who works in retail and has been threatened with dismissal over not having the right disposition or Ostensible authority, someone like you would really cheer me up.
Well, I'll let you in on a little secret. I was a member of management for a Retail store a couple years back. When the results of the secret shopper came in, the only people it really impacted were members of management, at the store level. Corporate could give a fuck about the results unless they are bad. They have no idea of how some 12 hour a week chump is working at a particular store. If you give that chump a glowing review, the net effect is pretty much zero. Yeah, maybe the Manager at the store will give him a pat on the back, but that's all that will happen.
On the other hand, when you give that chump a bad review, you know who really catches hell? The manager, for not doing his/her job to mold the chump.
So honestly, flipping the secret shopper process on it's ear probably sows less discord then the process as it is intended to be carried out.
when i worked in retail i got a cash bonus for getting a 100% review, my friends in retail in the UK - last week - told me the same....
the whole system is another level of control brought in by the corps to scare the chumps on the floor away form jacking off in the salad bar...
but to corrupt the system surely is cool....
personally i wouldnt give a good employee a bad review... but that would be an option

I suppose it will vary geographically. Also it will make a difference if it is commission-based or not. My experience is a non-commission set-up in the U.S.
I support your quest! As a former lazy-ass retail employee, I thank you.
mystery shopping is wide open for abuse..... they are desperate for staff as a lot of companies do not actually pay any money... you just get the expereince of staying in a hotel or catching a plane somewhere, just to come straight back.... or get to keep £5/$10 worth of groceries....
anyway
i am off to watch porn
