Title: Things to do before you die
Post by: Payne on September 09, 2008, 10:10:21 AM
6~Take out that damned jackboot from your ass. It's not cool, it's not funny and it's like a genetic disease in that you'll end up passing it onto generations of your descendents.

5~Learn to question EVERYthing. Occasionally, people tell you lies. Even people who sound perfectly reasonable and sane. The softer they speak, the more polite they are, the bigger the lie they can be hiding from you.

4~Stop waving the flag/passport/skin colour and calling it "Patriotism".  That shit just isn't funny anymore when the Government is already doing the same thing. Patriotism isn't about being a better citizen, it's about demanding a better country.

3~Take a crash course in bullshitting. It's the "in" thing these days. You might as well learn to be better at it than your Priest, Bank Manager and President.

2~Take time off and have a little fun. It's what they don't want you to do, right? When people say "Oh, telling someone not do something is like inviting them to go ahead and do it", they could well have a point when it comes to this. Do you REALLY want to be stuck in that cube all day when the sun is out?

AAAAAAND

1~Swim with dolphins. Nothing like having a wet slimy horny motherfucker wrapping it's prehensile penis round your leg to realise that these lists are all bullshit, and you really need to make up your own damn lists.

Fuck yeah I'm ready to be stuck inside this cube if I can make it interesting.

Do you think Accelerando (http://www.accelerando.org/book/) qualifies as a crash course in bullshitting?

No idea, I've not read it.

I've found that posting here is good for learning how to bullshit though. Or trolling. Trolling is good for it too.

Actually, I think I'm going to be honest and tell you how this trip started.

I was sitting in a train, tripping on a combination of LSA, weed, kanna, kratom, a rose petal and a good amount of salvia. On my way to a lecture about philosophical anthropology, I wrote the entire diabolical scheme down...

Virtues
It is time to restore them.

Virtues are that which brings men to glory, fame and wealth,
if that is what the virtuous one
desires.

Do not make the mistake
of assuming virtues are absolute.
They are only absolute in the sense that they represent a higher Truth, or Good, or God, if you will.

But to the common
creature, these virtues may
well seem strange or
even immoral. The virtuous
one shouldn't fret if his
assumed virtues aren't
commonly accepted, it is a
great tool to determine
who is chaff and who isn't.

You can only truly follow
virtues if they are an
honest reflection of your being.

If you made it this far
and still understand what
I'm talking about, have a
virtue.

If a man's conviction in
his virtues is firm, it is
an easy task to lead a
virtuous life.

O men of virtue, I salute
you, but don't forget the
game we're playing, and
don't forget the gift you're
giving, to the hapless and
unwilling        masses...

Excercise care when assigning
virtues, for you are manipulating
the very fabric of social
reality. When you have
selected your virtues, and
held them up to the light
long enough for them to
glow on their own,
it's time to turn on,
               tune in,
               drop out?

You'll find you'll see virtue
in all those you choose worthy.
Which means you should choose
                                 wisely...

Sparknotes:
Gods exist, they travel throughout history, thought, everything... Taking whatever hosts they desire.
Divinity feeds on divinity, yet together they create something more. The first is the one that has opened up the possibility,
he guides so the others can explore. The first has five abstract pupils, which he sets loose upon real people, to interrogate, to enlighten, to reward, and finally to recognize.

Wouldn't "Wut" be an appropriate response then?

The spagging up of threads in here really must stop.

And I know, this coming from me, of all people!

Payne: I loled at the swim with dolphins part. For my share of thread-spagging, I swam with dolphins once and it was AWESOME. A++ would totally do again. But also a winning way to end that list. I loled.

It means you get flamed like every person who comes in here thinking they have all the answers.

Except roger. He has the mind control lazers so we aren't able to question.

Drugs are indeed quite enjoyable once you get the gist of them.

They are the gateway. They have always been.

I have a girlfriend, was I supposed to just ignore her?

So Payne, I really liked this line:

Quote2~Take time off and have a little fun. It's what they don't want you to do, right? When people say "Oh, telling someone not do something is like inviting them to go ahead and do it", they could well have a point when it comes to this. Really speaks to that whole idea about not always being so serious and nose-to-the-grind.  Good stuff.
