Title: Apple files patent for camera hidden behind display
Post by: Triple Zero on January 12, 2009, 04:12:31 PM
We've already seen the iSight indicator light "disappear" behind the bezel of Apple's MacBook and iMac computers. A recently published patent application could make the iSight itself not only disappear, but move to the middle of the screen. MacBooks, iMacs, and even iPhones and iPod touches could take advantage of the new technology.

Er...they can already listen in on your convos. man. A speaker can be made to act as a microphone if you have the know how. I ain't gonna go into the whole spill, but it is a little late to be getting paranoid. You know, the patriot act and all.

While it's true that a transducer can work both ways, unless the program can also physically alter and reverse the A/D converter, the signal will only be going in one direction, i.e. from digital signal to analog signal to sound waves.

There are many pay-to-use tracking services on the net that'll trace to within a few hundred metres, i think.
Or possibly even nearer, dunno.
