This is my first attempt at digital art so feel free to tell me everything I have done wrong :D

I like the pointillism approach. Makes the active light source really *pop*.

You make that with the software that came with it? Or did you get 'shop already?

I believe he has a Wakon Bamboo One.

Its a wacom bamboo one, the software i used was ArtRage 2.5, it came with it and it is quite cool.
The pointillism approach was not intended but cool thanks :D
The mage is done with chalk and the light is airbrushed.
And yes BDS i am pissed at you... you stole my reply :argh!:

Found a free Stylus-based drawing package: OpenCanvas

http://wistinga.online.fr/opencanvas/ (Free 1.1 version)

http://www.portalgraphics.net/en/ (Current Version 4.5)

Haven't tried it yet, but it looks cool.
