Okay, so Cain is gone. He's banned his own account, and he has left specific instructions for us not to un-ban him. Against my own inclinations, I will honor that request.
And the snarkier bastards out there can shut the fuck up. We already know the standard one-liners and cynical bullshit about flouncing, so stuff a fucking sock in it, already. Cain has been around almost since the beginning, and I'd rather put up with his temper than with some of you fucknozzles on your best day. He's the best writer this board ever had, content-wise, and if he ever got upset because people rarely responded to his essays, well...I can only speak for myself, but the reason I rarely responded is because I would have nothing intelligent to add. I was too busy reading what he knows about international terrorism and weird fucking politicians to bother spamming up his threads with stupid fucking comments.
I rather suspect that Cain didn't leave just because a couple of people thought it would be a good idea to publish his shit and split the profits amongst themselves. I'm pretty sure I have an idea of how frustrated he is that he struggled though university for four years, only to find that there was NO work in his field - or any work period - because some greedy fucksticks 3000 miles away wrecked the world just when he was all ready to go have fun with his chosen field. So he's stuck living at home, when he should be out flying on his own and giving intentionally bad advice to elected figureheads.
That would piss me off a whole bunch.
I hope Cain will be back. I'm going to miss his commentary on the stupid bastards we hire to tell us what to do.
And, once again, if you absolutely MUST post something snarky or "witty", go fuck yourself instead. Assholes.
Or Ki...aw, fukkit.
This sucks.
My heart hurts. I don't know what else to say? Take your time but please come back?
Fuck.
Oh dear. :( I haven't been around very long but damn if he wasn't an enlightening read! He shall be missed.
For the record, even though I stated with confidence that he would be back in IRC (and got a "fuck you" for it :lulz: ), I agree with Cain, and I at least will miss him.
Damn, good luck Cain.
 I don't think the board will be the same without Cain. I like him, and as I've told him, I rarely have anything to say to his posts because I am out of my depth when he writes. I enjoy them, but I'm simply not in that league so I don't feel qualified to reply.
Cain - if you're reading this - I hope shit works out for you and I hope that you find your way back here eventually. You have no idea the number of people I've impressed the hell out of over the years by simply repeating some of the political shit you've posted in here.
You'll be missed
Taking time away is probably a good thing. The couple of breaks I've taken over the last couple of months have been very good for me in terms of my work productivity, and more importantly, getting a fresh perspective on what I am trying to accomplish over the long term. Discordianism is still important to me, and it still interests me, but, at this point, I think I am mostly still here because I still want to connect with some of you. The drama and bullshit are just that. This is just the internet, it's the IRL stuff that is obviously most important and you need to have a clear head to deal with it. Good luck Cain.

I second this. Cain, I apologize if anything I said anything that annoyed you (although that's probably very egotistical of me to assume) and I'd like to wish you good luck with whatever it is you're doing.

What.
Shit fuck damn.
I am going to have to get more information on WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON!!!!
I read everything Cain posts. I understand a good 98% of it, but.... I have hit the post reply button I don't know how many times and just sat there going, I have no fucking clue what to say that won't make me end up looking as stupid as I feel. So I don't comment.
This fucking sucks!
Cain and I have not always seen eye to eye, but I agree with Roger that he is the single best writer on this board, bar none. I highly respect him, and his writing, and know that this board will suffer as a result of his leaving.
I swear, I leave this board for four business days, and everything goes to shit.
The thing is, on this matter (that is, the reason he left), I agree with him, so I can't really expect him to "get over it".
Anyone know if he's gonna be hanging around POEE?

I agree that if someone actually HAD sold his work for profit without discussing it with him first, he'd have every reason for the way he reacted. Given that, in fact, all that occurred was a discussion about the possibility of taking such action, his overreaction was almost comically ridiculous, and I say that hoping that he reads it.
I don't think this is entirely about Intermittens.
Cain is a very intelligent guy and to think this is the sole reason he took off is kind of insulting IMO.
It may look that way on the surface but I doubt it.

Yeah, well, like I said, I don't think that was the only thing bugging him. He's basically fucked.
Agree with the OP, that the board lost one of if not the hugest assets it has. Will miss you here, Cain.

we're ALL basically fucked. It's no excuse for losing your head and blowing up at people that are supposed to be (more or less) your friends.
Dear Cain,
Wish you were here (instead of me). Bon Voyage! & thanks for all the fish!
Sincerely yours,
me
(pleeeze come back soon?)
I always thought with Cains' background he could start an "Information Clearing House" with certain valuable information being sold for fun and profit.
