LOVERLY! (and eeee! natalie dee!)
Nicely done!
i googled a picture and made a pattern from one that looked easy (looked), then added my own touches n shit.
it was a pain in the ass.
i was sure i'd never make another pair, now i'm re-thinking it cause i'm kind of a glutton for punishment

Pics of you in the Versace heels.

AHHHHHHH I LOVE IT! :fap:
I think I'm going to have to have a small Discordian gallery in my house after I move with collections from all of our artsy spags, because that is sheer brilliance and totally gallery worthy in my opinion.
AAAAHHHH!
Squid, I need to find something I have that is awesome so I can trade you for a piece of your fish-related arts. I have a friend who would fall head over heels to get something like the tentacles or the anglerfish.
Man, you guys really like it?
Cause I'm looking at it thinking of what I can do to make it look better but I know if I touch it I'm just gonna fuck it up worse.
I thought I had a long canvas cause I was gonna do a jelly fish but I didn't and then I got sad.
I'm learning to work with different mediums for texture and depth, so these are all kind of experiments. I'm hoping to get better.
Thanks for all the compliments :) it's encouraging.

I liked the tentacles better, it's hard to top those, except to make them BIGGER of course, but seriously those tentacles where sooooo cool.
The fish is also pretty damn sweet, but you may be right if you say the photos don't entirely do it justice.
If you're gonna keep working on it, only thing I can think of is to apply some subtle shading to the body and teeth, but maybe that's the bit I can't see on the photos. you could maybe fire up photoshop and draw shadings on the photo to see how it would look before you risk the original painting? Just some ideas.
that is a good idea.
thanks :)

I've been experimenting with different mediums and I've never worked with wood before so I thought I'd give it a shot and see what came of it.
This one was inspired by a couple friends of mine. The posture of the ladybot reminds me of the girl cause she's very girlie and feminine and the rabbit depicts her husband cause he was born year of the rabbit and has some weird connection to it.
It's acrylic and paper schematics on wood coated in polyurethane:

And this one is just a painting of a wind up toy Mr Squid has on a small piece of wood. No top finish:

I don't know what the hell I'm gonna do with all this junk now.
Label them Steampunk, put them on Etsy, and charge $40 a pair.
I like 'em!
Actually, what do you want for that last pair? The long ones with the gears at the bottom?
Shit, I don't know. What do you think is fair? 5 bucks?
Win. Now I have to find a magnificent card to send you a $5 bill in.
LOL a card will cost more than these earrings are worth.
just doodle something on a scrap paper.
I mean if you want I can make you something a little nicer.
To be honest these things are kinda small.
I kind of want #2 & #4. Trade you beads for 'em? Or, OOOOOOOHHHHH
A long time ago I bought a bunch of sterling silver earwires because I thought that I would make jewelry. It turns out, I am not so good at making jewelry. I still have a dozen left. They're kind of tarnished though. Trade you those & a few pairs of extra spacer beads I have hanging around?
Dude. Your beads cost WAAAAAAAAY more than these things.
Half of my parts are literally a dime a dozen. Like 12 for 10 cents.
That's not a fair trade at all.
I think I'm gonna do one of the craft fair things the ladies do here with this stuff. I'll put together some nice ones and just send them to you guys or something.

Heh, you should try making stuff out of dead fuses. The burn marks/melted wires make them look [insert vague artsy-sounding term here].
the phrase you want is 'steampunk couture', but yours is actually the shorter explanation
Sure, but I'd have to kill the fuse myself since the ones I buy are good ones usually, AFAIK they don't sell blown ones. Or at least I haven't seen any.
Also the lead wires have to be good cause I use those to make the loops out of.
Not a bad idea though.
I just like how they look like little glass tubes/cans. I wish there was a way to get lime green ooze into them.
I made these earlier and I actually LIKE THEM
(http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f45/Squidoid667/DDLM1.jpg)
They took a little while with the hand stitching, french knots suck, but I think it was worth the effort. Ima wear em to work tomorrow.
Wow, I think those are awesome too!
Those are fucking adorable!
You really should, if you have time, consider making a whole bunch and selling them on Etsy. I think they'd be really popular.

The spares I have are just itty bitty pairs, nothing at all fancy. You might be able to do something cool with them, otherwise they sit in this plastic bucket forever. Plus, what am I going to do with these earwires?
LOVE your pink and yellow calaveras, Squiddy! And I love love LOVE my fuse jewelry you gave me a while back. Blows peeps' minds when I wear it--"Are those---FUSES?!?" :D I just smile and say, "Hell yes, and isn't it cool?" Mah fuses is popular!
Lol, after much himming and hawing about being productive I thought I should probably do the Etsy thing.
All my friends said to, so I guess I kinda have to.
Besides I could use some extra shlubbin around money, even if it's just a little.
Nigel- you've convinced me. If they're just gonna sit in a bucket, that makes me think of how sad they must be, sitting there. In a bucket. Alone. Dang it, that's sad.
I'll use em!
I'll make you something pretty and send it to you, then you can send what you think might be a fair exchange of your "bucket leavins" and wire do dads.
Might take me a bit though.
Jenne- glad you like that stuff :D
I would totally pay you for a couple pairs of your felt earrings...I wish I had something to exchange, but card-making is about the only thing I've tried my hand at decently in the past few years, though I can sew, and I do small decorator projects here and there. *thinks* Oh, and I have made jewelry to some some effect as well...let me know!
