Quickest lunch ever:
In a small bowl mix- (equal parts, like a 1/4 tsp)
salt
curry powder
garam masala
ground coriander
cumin
turmeric
(ground cardamom if you have it)
-or use your favorite curry mix-
also need-
strained and rinsed chickpeas from a can or re-hydrated dry ones, either way they're fine
olive oil
wee bit o garlic minced
Heat a small pan and coat the bottom with olive oil. Throw in your garlic and spice, sautee till it smells up your house. Add the chickpeas and cook em till your eyes burn and a few pop open.
That's it. You can top em with some chopped cilantro if you have it, or if you want to. I don't even like these damn beans cause they're usually too mealy for me, but I like these and it takes like 5 minutes to make em.
Made a more complex version of this for lunch and dinner, BEFORE I saw this recipie. :3
sweet.

Still sound delicious. The same idea, but with Sriacha and Sazon on beans and rice, has been my lunch / heartburn fuel all week.

Hm...no vinegar or nuffin? Sounds yum and quick. We always have garbonzo beans around for hummus.

oops
Proper garam masala already has coriander, cumin, turmeric, etc etc etc
yes. it does.
and yet i add more anyway.
IT'S WACKY NUNU!!
Actually, Badges, there's really no such thing as "proper" garam masala--it literally means "spice mixture" in India, and it's got typical things in it, but it can really vary from store to store and company to company.
proper garam masala = make your own
the indian lady i work with makes her own.
she doesn't put turmeric in it.
WACKY NUNU!!
:lulz: Exactly, Squid.
