For linux-spags, I got the svn-version of desmume to compile with no problems - with sound too! v0.9.4 didn't seem to work, and I didn't try any emulators.
Kinda wants to make me buy an actual DS.

It's gotta be a DS limitation. There are hints that it may (eventually) appear on other platforms, which would be neat as the DS screen is a bit too small to fit much into. Half-considering starting an open-source version, but I have too many unfinished game-projects already :-/

Ha! Neat.. I made a dinosaur, but it just ate me.. didn't know you could ride them! I hadn't tried time machine, but I did stumble upon a transporter...
My current favourite is just invoking God to kill nasty beasties.. though if you accidentally piss him off things go downhill rapidly.

I know what you mean. I grew up on text adventures... endless variations of "I don't know the word xxxx" or having to type "operate key" rather than "turn key" or "use key"... bah. This is a revelation!
It does get hard (on world 4/10). Pretty much every bad guy can be defeated by dropping something heavy on them (or God), and you can pretty much always use a rope attached to a UFO to ferry objects around.. but the fact that it just lets you get away with doing stuff like that tends to make me work harder to find an alternative solution.

It looks like you're having similar issues with control as I am - here's hoping Nintendo don't buy them out - on another platform I'm sure it'd work even better.

I saw the preview of that when my boss brought it back from the Vegas show a few weeks ago...and I kind of want to pick up a DS just for it. The preview was awesome and you guys' description sounds really damned fun!

I tried it - you do get a "starlite" which you can pick up and throw around, but it doesn't complete the level as picking up the regular starlites do. Can't think why not though.
