I prefer a bound book, myself, one that's printed in ink that won't run if I get it damp. And of course, given the outrageous price of ink these days, printing your own is almost as expensive as just buying one pre-bound.

This. I meant a bound copy, my bad.

The hardback version Syn produced was super sexy.

To be honest, I don't even know which version I'm getting. I ordered if from Barnes and Noble, if you'd beleive it. It's the only place I could find it. Honestly, I'll take any version I can get so long as I can physically thumb through the pages.

I printed mine and put it in a bonder so I can put other things in with it.  I did it in stages at work, so I didn't pay for the ink...

You're a fucking idiot.  Synaptyx has a HARDCOVER edition on lulu.com, and the proceeds would have gone to one of our own, rather than some ratfuck publishing company.

Great Job Of Breaking It, Hero.

How much is it? I can still cancel the order.

Edit: Just looked on lulu.com and could only find the softcover. Doesn't really matter, anyway, I don't have a credit card or bank account to order with.

Yeah, I seem to recall Syn running into some sort of trouble with the publisher printing the hardcover version.  I think he was getting hosed by them or something.

I've seen Syn's PD hardcover at other places than just lulu.com though. Is it not also on Amazon and Bol.com?

I bought Syn's hardcover on Amazon, but I think you can only get the softcover now. Which is OK, it's still a superior edition. For some reason shipping is cheaper when you buy Lulu stuff off Amazon.

Isn't the black and gold one copyrighted?  I think I might buy the one in the picture, but first have to replace all my others.  I have owned and lost many copies.  I think I need 2 or 3 more copies of the hardcover in case that one vanishes.  Is it available anywhere?

It would really suck, Vit, if you got the one that has no pictures and is just pages of text.

By the way, where the fuck did these come from:

Black and Gold, you're talking about the Steve Jackson version right?  The only thing that is actually copyrighted in it is Steve Jackson's eye in the pyramid logo/design.  As far as I understand, the rest of it is kopyleft, including the crap his followers added to it.  Well, actually it isn't ALL crap.  A couple of the additions are okay.

Yes, the Steve Jackson one. It was ok.  I wish I knew where the fuck all my books keep going.  I have had that one, the yellow on and the pinkish purple one, but I don't remember seeing them in a while.  I am glad my hardcover is still with me.

a cabbage acquaintance of mine ruined my Yellow 4th edition. To make up for it, she bought me the copyrighted version, as, it is the only version B&N does or will ever sell. But it's okay, cause she's really fat now.

I can honestly say that the copyrighted version is not worth the money, and the additions are all tripe.

It was the Steve Jackson one. It's all right. I like it, it's shiny...

I do want a backup copy, though. I'm sure the one I have will get dog-eared/lost/permanently borrowed.

You should tell Steve Jackson how much you like it.  hxxp://forums.sjgames.com  He loves talking about the Principia Discordia.  He especially loves it when people pester him about the supposed sequel he was going to produce, but never did.

Mine is in someone else's bathroom right now, but i believe that the inside cover legal shtick says that all kopyleft material remains kopyleft, but the exact presentation of the Steve Jackson version itself is copyrighted.

I've an idea kicking in the back of my skull to write a PD with Concordance (LOL) and Apocrypha.

(there's already an Apocrypha Discordia out there, i think...)

Perhaps my inevitable conversation with SJ could be in it.

I have an account over there which I check from time to time.  If any lulz ensue I will be sure to share them with the rest of the class.  But trust me, you really don't want to have a door open here through which a bunch of Mountain Dew swilling, Klingon speaking, role playing spags will enter.

The Lutheran Church -Missouri Synod also has a bunch of Concordia Universities in the United States. I guess that is one of their things. I say we declare war on them.
