I have been given the chance to perform on the stage of a local cabaret next week.
Since it's supposed to be short stuff in between the music I wanted to present the spider and the city project to the audience. There won't be any money involved, the only benefit would be to make the words heard by an audience and leave a reference to pd.com and who wrote what.
If you are willing to give me permission to read your texts post in here.
~planeswalker
Well, I only had one piece in the Hey LMNO thread but you are welcome to use it as you wish. Same goes for TGRR's project. I don't want any money or anything from it so have at it!
My words are free for use with attribution.
I don't require attribution... but reference to PD would be cool.
i'd be flattered
you can use my bit as well, though it's really short, it was actually intended to be read out loud.
Permission granted.
Awesome. yes. Permission granted.
Can you get your act videotaped?
Credit to those who's bits you use, and a point back here as the source, and it's fine with me.
You can use my piece if you wish (I only wrote about the Spiders, not The City).
Yes, provided a nod is given to the contributors, either as a group (PD), or individually.
Feel free to use my one too if you wish.
Go for it. Pics and video if possible!
Note: I don't care how or when attribution is given, the only reason I'm making a big deal out of it is that we might be actually publishing this shit, and I don't want any chance of someone accusing us of plagiarizing anything.
Go for it. And tell us if anyone visibly squirms.
I hereby grant right to use my stuff however you see fit
*waves hand*
if possible, film it?
All of my stuff is kopyleft. Use what you like, just spell my name right.
its the shortest contribution in the city thread but use it if you want, attribute personal or group
I have contributed nothing.
Feel free to use said nothing however you see fit.
I expect full credit for nothing.
No problem, with attribution. :)

You should. Your head is almost as filthy and depraved as mine.
And you live in the belly of the beast.

If I ever get 5 minutes to myself without someone asking "whatcha doin?" or "mom can you sign this" or a cat breaking something, or getting it's head stuck in something....
my god...
I HATE THIS HOUSE.

I'm not gonna say that was predictable, but there are as-yet undiscovered tribes in Peru that KNEW that was gonna happen.

No, film the
barstools, we need to have proof they exist!
Free for use with attribution, should you decide to use it. Me or the group, I don't care.

True story-
as i sat there in my little broken desk chair attempting to write i managed to finish 2 whole paragraphs before i heard the door open.
"honey i'm home! i took a half day!"
lost my train of thought and then i had to go to work.
so i did what i ALWAYS do. got pissed, clicked the X before saving and shuffled off to work mumbling all the obscenities i could think of till i plugged my laptop into my car (the laptop, you know, the big mp3 player) and blasted bollywood songs all the way to work.
now as i write this i get to listen to my husband's friend read a description of some dumb god damned video game while i joyfully watch them play fallout 3.
JOYFULLY!!!!!!!!!
because i want to watch nothing else when i come home from work. NOTHING. ELSE.
And then I remembered that I can just go in the other room
(http://www.insidefurniture.com/insidefurniture/images/duh_can.jpg)
Thanks! Video coverage is something I am trying to organise.
Attribution to pd.com and the writers is a given.
Unfortunately I will only have the chance to read four texts, three during the music breaks and one when it's all done.
Going to contemplate over what will be used to create an arc of horrormirth. Details coming.
There is also another cabaret which is doing open-stage this month. I'm getting in touch with them on monday to see if they are interested.
This has been an epic night.
In between the performings of local punk heros Pariasound (one of which is also a member of this fine board) I read from the spider project three times. I used Roger's original post, LMNO's first reply and the "I remember there was a time when things were different" text.
The audience absolutely loved it, and I truly enjoyed being the messenger of these awesome words - selected pics coming later.
I was awarded with two beers, some love, a couple of hugs, miscellaneous kudos, interesting conversations and requests for more.
So I am planning to do this again - better, proper setting, background music, etc.
We definitely made a change in some people's minds last night. That makes me a very happy man.
finally I want to say --- GET THIS PUBLISHED!!!

Working on it. We have about 80% of the material we need for a first run at the publisher.

Also, I can rant on demand, if you have an audience. Gimme a topic when the time comes, or just hit the randomize button if you want to be surprised.

It's the threads in Apple Talk with personally addressed subjects like "Hey LMNO" (the first one) or "Iason, where did they go?", "Roger, it HURTS.", "Burns, Goddammit, shoot me in the face!" most of them started by or addressed to Roger. you can tell them apart from the retarded should-have-actually-been-a-PM "ATTN:" threads by the fact that the first post is actually a kickass rant instead of a personal message you wouldnt give a fuck about.
Apart from that, there's not much of an index, so browse a few pages back in Apple Talk to find them.

Ah, right. I seen a couple of these when I came back. Kinda wondered why they weren't in OKM. Come to think of it I'm still wondering.
I think they were started in exactly the right place. But they may need to be moved to a better place, for posterity.

One of my plans for this weekend is to index and link them.

I might have a place to read some more in 2-3 weeks. As for topics, Sweden is full of the same shit as the rest of the western world, random button should work nicely. I can PM you a list of current events in Swedistan once I know the exact date.

Sweet.
bump for activity...
next wednesday on the 25th of november / otherwise the week afterwards on the 2nd of december / I will get around 1-2 hours of stage time to bring some delightful tunes and proper horrormirth into peoples' ears. this time the spider texts will be read in full and chronologically, since I have more time at my disposal. I am also going to throw in some of the city texts if the time allows for it. Musical interludes will be provided by me on a piano.
This isn't bring & brag but here's a rough first draft of the piano piece I had pouring out of my fingers in the last days. It feels good to get back into this so I want to share... once it's done I will haunt you with a recording.
http://img688.imageshack.us/img688/209/image011ac.jpg
For the spider stories I am thinking of playing something heavier than this though. Checking classic horror movie music right now to find inspiration... any recommendations? I was thinking of giving the spider itself a mighty and disturbing theme which will come back during all texts that mention it.
BUMP - I want to hear that recording!

BUMP - I want to hear that recording!
Oddly enough, I had a pile of papers fall out of the shelf this morning... including a printout from the v3 pdf and my staff papers.
One recording from 2009 exists, going through a few of the themes from the screencap - but I don't mean to have this venture into the public domain just yet. You will get a PM Cram.
As for the current progress. I have obtained a semi-broken piano a while ago and hope to have it all fixed and tuned in february, thus allowing me to finally get the 2nd half of this done and re-arranging the other small themes I have dotted all over that notebook.
For the time being I make due with a keyboard and renoise; but unless I have a real piano under my fingers the "magic" just won't flow as smoothly; so I stick to my usual type of chiptune/synthy stuff.
