That's the rough draft, of course.
Nivek will be doing Broken Little Town in tandem with Keelin's Spider series.
:mittens: Are you planning on adding any color to them are leaving them as is?
:mittens: Perfect!
I like them as is.
Pretty great! :mittens:
YESSSSSS
You guys are awesome. :)
:mittens:
Beautiful!
My god that's so awesome.
these are truly great. i love the handwriting.
my only critique would be that the "feeding tube" person looks a little too japanimated (sic?) - and, shall we say . . . not fat?
it looks good, but i'm not sure if it's keeping with the metaphor.
i kinda pictured the average "feeding tube person" to look more like this guy:

Yeah, the handwriting was genius on Keelin's part. And the Japanime is all she's up for, she's new at this. Nivek's work is a lot more varied...I have the first galleys for Broken Little Town, but I need her to fix something before I post it.
This is wonderful. It's like a children's book got invaded and desecrated.
As for the feeding tube person, I think it's good as it is. The point of the web is that it gets everyone regardless of age, beauty, etc.
Plus, not every cough potato or teevee addict looks like Carl.

They do if they're from Northern New Jersey.
I just gotta say, that the creepy cut off head and smile on the guy in the suit in the last panel next to the spider makes the whole damn thing. So fucking perfect.

This town sucks without you being here. :argh!:

More on the way, as my daughter's schoolwork permits.
She gets a primo laptop and a Wacom tablet if she gets all As and Bs, and she's gotten a little serious about it.
SWEEET
I just had a strong spate of child-adoration. I think my maternal glands released a bunch of chemicals or something.
I wish my oldest and your girl could hang out, they seem to have a lot in common. Other than being a couple years apart in age. And my girl is young for her age. She's a geeky sweet little doll-girl who still loves her mama... by this age, my friends' kids were calling their moms bitches. I can't even imagine my girlet saying something like that.

Wacom tablets are awesome. With her creativity I bet she will create some really kickass stuff on it.

Yeah, well, the economy is about to take another big poop, so I'm trying to give my kids some good times to have memories of if things get really bad.
I mean, it's never too late to have a happy childhood, but why wait?

Good policy. This is why the kids ate beans for a week but my boy got a goddamn bicycle for his birthday.
Luckily, the kids get excited at the idea of Mom's chili con carne.
I can't wait to see what more she comes up with, Roger. She's got a hell of a lot of talent! The tablet will definitely help alot with her artwork.
That little girl is talent incarnate. You know it.

Do we know if these are going to be inked, or if they will remain pencil sketches?

They're going to be inked, mostly as a training exercise. Nivek has graciously volunteered to teach my daughter some techniques beyond manga (my daughter has gotten too comfortable with manga, and needs to branch out a bit).

Because it's a slippery slope, and the slime pit at the bottom is...
Hentai.

Naw, not in her case. In her case, she got good at something, and stopped trying anything else. That's just changed.
It's easy to get in a rut.

It took me about two years to get out of anime since i had started drawing it as a serious venture. Then I got tired of doing the same thing. The best thing is just to push her into something else and more often than not she'll just drop anime and do something of her own accord. Its more of a task of showing her that anime isn't all there is that is edgey. The anime market is over saturated.
art style totally reminds me of my friends art:
