Title: So who here remembers little old me?
Post by: Medeo on October 19, 2009, 04:19:21 PM
I used to post on the old PD.com forums years ago. At my peak activity, I believe I clocked in at around 7th in number of posts forum-wide. I stumbled my way back here out of sheer nostalgic curiosity.

Anyway, it appears my old account has either been baleeted or is otherwise inaccessible, but that's okay.

So, how is everyone? Looks like a lot has changed around here. Who among the vintage forumites is still active? I've seen posts by Roger and LMNO so far. Bella? Malaul? Devil Squirrel? CNN? Chef? That drunk Canadian whose name embarrassingly escapes me (Hogarth or something like that)? Anyone? Bueller? :?

(P.S.: If anyone also recalls an old forumite by the name of Hotsuma, I'm happy to report that he's doing well and we still chat frequently)

Wow, they seem to be coming out of the woodwork.

Hi Medeo.  TGRR and I are still around.  The rest seem to have wandered off.  Try the Eris Bar and Grill, they may be hanging out over there.

Things may have changed a bit since you were last here.  Take some time and poke around.

Horab unfortunately overdosed on crystal meth and went crazy.  Its in the archives here, somewhere.

Also, I remember you, but only through extensive archive browsing.  Welcome back.

Well, if it tells you anything, I am one of the old-timers now.  And while I've read some of your past posts, I don't think we were ever on the forums at the same time.

Thanks for the warm (re)welcome!  :)

It's a really pleasant surprise that PD.com is (apparently) as alive and kicking as it's ever been. I was afraid I'd find it abandoned, or worse: domain-squatted. :aaa:

Well, the workers rose up and usurped Lauren a few years ago, and now we control the means of production.

FUCKIN' A!  MEDEO!

Bella runs her own board, now.  Search "Eris Bar and Grill".  It's a little less rough and tumble, and you'll find Gnimbly and sometimes Guido over there.

Horab left in disgrace.  He can sometimes be found at EB&G.  I was Chef, of course, though ECH (Turd Ferguson) took over later.  Debbil Squirrel is all grown up, and spends most of her time in meatspace, but (rarely) is at EB&G.

We ran that little shithead off that was leering at your sister.

We have a whole raft of really good posters that came in during your absence...Richter, Suu, Cramulus (probably the most creative member, ever), Nigel, and a bunch of others.

Scribe is now Cain, and BMW is now Kai.

You and Hotsuma need to stop that meatspace shit and get back on the boards.

Then it turns out that the very first thing a dentist does is pump you full of psychoactive drugs

Hello, Medeo--I have heard tell of the Olden Days of PD...even did some dumpster diving of the archives for a while before I even started posting.  PD is different now yet the same, strangely enough.  And you should go over the eb&g and see Bella, her new husband and gnimbley.  St. Mysteria is there, as well.

Man, it has been a seriously long time. If memory serves, I started posting here when I was a sophomore in high school. Now I'm a junior in college, albeit of the don't-really-know-why-I'm-here-mostly-just-avoiding-the-real-world variety.

I don't even want to see any of my old posts, I'm guessing 99% of them would just make me hang my head in shame now.

Gnimbley! Almost forgot about him. He sent me a box full of sci-fi/fantasy paperbacks once, some of them were quite interesting.

"Her" species doesn't actually have males.  They were all eaten years ago.  Sparkley is the last of her kind, and now she's eyeballing human males.  Rumor has it that there are no man between the ages of 20-30 left in her town, but this is as of yet unproven.  All federal investigators have failed to check back in with their office.

No, it wasn't.  It was Ron Paul.  It hardly counts, because he was such a skinny little guy.

The Ron Paul you see now is an animatronic robot, on loan from Disneyworld.  That's why he doesn't look real.

ETA:  We programmed him to say some hilarious shit, though, and the libertarians just eat it right up.

It has like 20 posts a day.  Mostly in Current Mood and the rest normally moaning about MW or the other Pagan site du jour.

Well, that and I was about the single most despised poster over there (that isn't banned, that is. well, not at the moment), despite my role in securing that site both originally, and during the dispute with MW.  I was never treated with the respect I was due, so I'll be damned if I ever say a good thing about that place.

Well Bella made her case pretty clear.  Cain gets stalked = nothing to get worried about.  Bella gets stalked = time for a banning.  Cain questions the banning, PKLS "mysteriously" shows up here.

Cain argues that torture is badwrong.  Cain gets two admins attempting to dogpile him over events they were never even around to witness (and which had nothing to do with the argument, and which I held hardly any of the blame for).

Cain tries to make a funny over Mol's threats = Cain is trying to get the forum shut down.

Someone cries because they clicked on an obvious browser bomb = Cain gets publically chastised, even though he'd done it several times before on the site, to many more people, with no complaints.

Bella pulls my work from her Discordian library, after we have a very public disagreement.  I never requested this, and she never reinstated it.

And so on and so forth.  I mean I could go all the way back to the Birdy thing, if I really felt like dredging up some real old stuff.  As far as EB&G's mods are concerned, I was too unpredictable and too skilled at what I did for direct attacks, so they decided to go for death by a thousand cuts.

Not to mention I was very vocal and unapologetic about my anti-mod crusade over here, which no doubt created some extra bad-blood and aminosity between myself and Bella.

Yeah, because, of course, that is really what this is about, between me and you.

It totally wasn't you decided to insult me, I replied, you escalated, I escalated in response, you declared "WE CAN NEVER BE TEH FRIENDS EVER AGAIN", despite a couple of months earlier you insulting me (note: months, not "a year"), and several other people, out of the blue without me playing the "friends" card, a brilliant display of both your hypocrisy and how you are a whiny little bitch who can dish it out but can't take it.  And then decided to invent some fictitious conspiracy theory about a vendetta to try and escape responsibility for your actions.

Oh, wait, I got those two mixed up.  Carry on.
