Mele Kalikimaka and Hau'oli Makahiki Hou!
:crankey:
Mele Kalikimaka to you too, brah.
DID ANYONE GET ANY COOL SHIT?! I got $300 plane tickets so under the tree wasn't that impressive for me, but I still not some nifty things. I got a sterling silver rapier necklace, diamond hoop earrings, underwear, socks, some Star Wars figures including a Build-a-Bear Darth Vader Monkey my sister made for me, a new mouse and keyboard, new computer speakers, a $50 Joann Gift Card and some other small things. I need to be able to bring it all home, so they had to go small.
I bought myself a Betsey Johnson handbag and received a small inheritance from my grandfather's estate which will be used toward paying off my student loans and a new apartment. My sister got a new camera so I got her old one, which means I can actually take GOOD pics of my stuff!
Christmas Eve my dad and I split a handle of Mt. Gay Rum. Apparently I got mean. :|
The Suu Family Nightmare:
I had to sleep on the couch where my brother is all night. Not only were we unable to turn off the tree lights because it was behind all that shit, but they forgot to put the AC back on after the party and I was up all night sweating and looking at piles of presents. :x It's now cold again (lol 50s), so no AC needed. Heading to Orlando tomorrow with my sister to hit the outlets out there and go see Squid for dinner.
Addendum:
It's Suu family tradition to write witty hints on the gift tags for the corresponding gift. I received a wooden pterodactyl model.
...The tag read, "SWEET MERCIFUL FUCK!"
I'm so proud of my parents. So proud.

Wow. They sound pretty awesome :)
We've even warped your parents.

The fuck?
What the fuck :lulz:
I got a bunch of clothes, Scribblenauts and the Modern Marvels: Engineering Disaster box set.
:magick:
gave sister in law a copy of angel tech,
aunt some disney23 buttons
myself I got the prisoner novel, ben franklin, chex mix and really weird blue and green chess set from the Smithsonian institution
o and a shirt of parrots playing poker
Doctor Who DVD box set (new fourth season), No More Heroes and Red Steel for the Nintendo Wang, and the number one best confectionery treat ever invented: molasses pops. Fuck yeah, materialistic pleasures.
good quality gloves, a box of mechanical pencils that was supposed to be pens (lol), topped off with a new computer
Underwear, bath stuff, 20 bucks and beef jerky. Yum.
I got a 32 inch hd lcd, which is extra sweet since my monitor just died, and a blue ray internets streamy thingy.
Mrs. Alty's related to some magistrates*.
It's weird. My mom worked at burger king when I grew up, not used to shit like this. Not that I'm complaining. It just leaves me feeling very uncomfortable to have really nice things I haven't worked my ass off for.
Can't wait to get the conversion cord and have 32 inches of High Def PD.com goodness.
*:magick:?
I got dishes, glassware, and freaking kick ass stainless steel silverware set- YAY
Finally, glass dishes in the maphdet household.
This can only mean one thing-more things to pick up when they break.
But being that we want to get us away from eating off of plastic, I'm willing to deal.
(two glasses and one oil pour thingy have broke so far)
:)
And Damn I want the Doctor Who Box set-I'm a fan, yeah one of the few shows I can bare on the TeeVee.
A sprained thumb and some money
They weren't related.
Money, perfume/colonge etc .. and bought tons of clothes for myself :D .. still got more to buy
I got a new turntable.
I can finally have the other kind of "vinyl party" at our place!
I got heartburn, upset stomach, AND indigestion.
Beat that fuckers!!!!
Also, I, er, I mean Santa got my daughter a drum-set for Xmas. It ended up being a lot smaller than I anticipated, but it is a real drum set. They're just smaller versions of snare, tom, and bass drums. It was totally awesome watching her run into the living room Xmas morning. She was super psyched and started banging away right away. Santa done good this year. :D
Christmas was 3 days of visiting family and watching my kid get way too many gifts. My bedroom is now almost completely filled with empty boxes awaiting to be recycled after being used as the most epic fort my boy has ever seen.
I got some very warm clothes, miscellaneous items, gift cards, checks, a serious dent in my pocketbook, some X-mas sex and the beginnings of a gut.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that the game where you write just about any word down on the screen and it pops into gameplay? If so, how is it? I was thinking about getting it, but I can imagine the mechanics being a little wonky.
As far as gifts, I received my first computer
ever :fap:.
INB4 Welcome to the 90's.

looks like my family might actually get a xmas card next year :lulz:
How do they know that the fetuses are heterosexual?
Probably by consulting orishas. Or perhaps they just guess.

A passport cover, with my initials engraved into it. Unfortunately British, but never mind.
T-shirts
Money
E.H. Carr's The Twenty Year Crisis
Unfinest Hour by Brendan Simms
Voltaire's Bastards by John Ralston Saul
Stanley Hoffman's Chaos and Violence
The Breaking of Nations by Robert Cooper
McMafia by Misha Glenny
The Great Game: On Secret Service in High Asia by Peter Hopkirk
Toiletries from Molton Brown
A bottle of Baileys, because at this time of year, I like to add Baileys to my coffee.
I'm actually pretty easy to buy for.
What's this about having too many books?
I couldn't find any of the above as e-books. Besides, when you have over 30,000, whats a few more?

I envy your collection. :argh!:
Those are all ebooks, I should point out. Probably more than a few duplicates and duds in there, as well. But as a rough number, it works.
All easily obtained too. I can PM you with a small list of sites, if you want?
One of my many side projects is building a rough full text search application that scans all the ebooks on my HD and inserts the results in a column automatically right next to my google results. It will take some time before it's finished (if ever) but if I do, I'll be sure to pass it to you, Cain. The basic idea is not to be able to text-search the books themselves, but mainly to get a rough idea of which books in your collection contain subjects similar to whatever you happen to be googling at that moment. Cause yeah there''s no way I'm even going to open all of those books, probably.
Holy shit, that is software that I would actually pay for.
Let me know if you ever finish it?
That could be helpful, yes. Although I am currently reorganizing my hard drive so my library is more easy to navigate, too.
Mostly I'd just love to have a content-searchable index for my many gigs of reference texts and academic articles.
