Edit: I also feel compelled to mention Blalock's Indie/Rock Playlist, out of some misguided sense of responsibility to the indie community.

I liked Silent Shout.
ROYKSOPP!
and the other one (starting with F?) .
pretty much everything that singer has done! Can't wait to hear this when I get home.
I hope with all of my might that there is not actually any such thing as "the indie community".
Its not really so much a community as a group of people who are happy to play the "I listen to bands so obscure you've never even heard of the genre they play" game.
The "indie community" refers to musicians who put their music out through independent record labels, the people who work for those labels, and the people who promote and support the aforementioned musicians, so yes, there is an actual interested, participatory indie music community, more in some areas than in others. I've been (somewhat unwillingly due to lack of interest) involved with that community for most of my adult life.
Does this community consist of unwashed people in skinny jeans? And would it actually be considered a crime to find out where they meet and plant high explosives there?
I reckon you can find them in obscure coffee shops or apple stores, but before you commit to blowing the joint up, please feel free to steal their collective ipods and listen to the music. I think you'll find it's actually rather good.

I think I might have forgotten to mention ORS 512.765, the statute requiring all adult males under the age of 35 to be actively engaged in a musical endeavor.
