Patrick Kennedy is calling it quits after 16 years.
The State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations is in shock.
Republicans think they can pull another Scott Brown.
Help.
Evan Bayh just ducked out too, leaving the Dems up shit creek without a paddle. It looks like my next senator will be an asshole lobbyist who hasn't lived in this state during this century. :argh!:
:lulz:
Funniest decade evar!
You can hardly blame Kennedy and Bayh.
I mean, it must be very hard schlepping to and from Washington without a spine.

Why? It's not like the dems haven't been trying their very fucking hardest to either BE the GOP, or suck ass on the minority, for reasons which escape me entirely.
The last election was a mandate for actual change, but the dems...from the least freshman rep to the president, have spent their time in Washington treating the GOP as a required voice in policy making.
Fuck the dems. Fuck them in their eye sockets. They are worthless, and deserve the stomping they have coming. After all, if I'm given a choice between the GOP and the GOP, I'm simply going to vote for Joe Walsh (for everything) and call it a day.
Yeah, I keep seeing these headlines that suggest the dems are losing something essential in their powerplays.
Considering they've done fuck all with their Supermajority (healthcare wut?) I don't really see the problem.

Yeah, the "power" part.
The dems couldn't find their own arses with two special prosecutors and a committee hearing. Useless fuckers.
Yeah, but the GOP is almost whole-handedly responsible for the downfall of Rhode Island.

How so?
Our governor is a worthless bigoted piece of shit.
Time for a third party perhaps?

Just because the 3rd parties are
funnier doesn't mean they're
better.
Time for approval voting. That way more people get what they want, and I am all for people getting what they want.
Sigma,
Because getting what you ask for is often more horrible.

I vote the bottom third of
all parties.
You could sell the shoes and roast the legs.

Oh, yes. You make me president, and I will give the American people everything they've been demanding. And I will continue to do so long after they start screaming.
I think the people who were doing right in Niger should help us out.
We'd just elect the same assholes next time.

Are you saying there's no end to this?
The options are to either appoint a dictator and hope he isn't secretly an asshole, or try to convince people to stop voting for assholes.
So yeah, no end in sight.
It's kind of frightening, isn't it?
Weimar Republic, here we go (http://kunstler.com/blog/2010/02/were-weimar.html)!
US as Weimar is an interesting response to the Obama=Hitler crowd.
