May 23. Who's in?
Depends. What is the mortality rate?
guess that would depend whether or not yatto shows up
Because if Yatto shows up and starts offing us, I am totally in.
I'M
there!

the new pledge?
The mortality rate at my houseparties is usually pretty low, and I was thinking I'd volunteer my back yard for the simple reason that drinking in is a lot cheaper than drinking out, and I have a large BBQ and a firepit. Plus if anyone gets bored I live half a block from a huge park (good for hiding eggs and other such fun-bombs), am close to several bars, and my place is easy to find. My house is pretty roomy and can accommodate probably as many out-of-towners as might need accommodations.
Yes, I just offered to let a bunch of strange Discordians stay at my house.
I'm armed. Plus hopefully ECH will be there, and ain't nobody misbehaves around ECH.

My impression of him is that he is a source of high quality bad behavior.

Well, there you are then. He sucks up all the bad behavior and beats you over the head with it.
ECH has STANDARDS for his bad behavior. It's not going to be any run-of-the-mill, cheap bad behavior.
damnit! :argh!:
i will have just finished spending every penny i have in NY by this time.
Interesting.
I'll think about it, but it would likely involve two days worth of driving plus crossing the US land border. I hear they eat people there.

The border police do, but the rest is safe if you stick to the rest stops and don't take naps.
Unless I find a better job soon or my current job gives me a huge raise, I will be in Maine by May 23rd.
that makes ECH a sad panda. :(
Awwww man! :(
I know. I really don't want to go back but the siren song of the almighty dollar is impossible to resist, especially when I am hoping to save enough over the summer to buy a food truck and have a street food business up and running by spring of 2011.
so hard rock didnt call you back?
fuck that would have been worth selling one soul to get in the front door of.
on the bright side if you go back you can spray paint fnord on someones cows
discordians from the midwest, drive to portland and bring me along :)
I'm thinking about going, if you don't mind.
Not at all! The more the merrier.
since WIP doesnt read the forums...
this should teach her :fnord:
and
since may 23rd is the weekend after her birthday,
i hope you all dont mind helping me to JAKE the misses
by having a surprise picnic in the park and wearing birthday hats
i am to lure her, and two friends if they come: nice vegan girl and a discordian bass player
into a roadtrip south, since shes been wanting to do the tourism thing
i even have a banner we can use to wish her happy birthday,
or an humorous insult about getting older and useless.
maybe both... with the latter being on the reverse side :lulz:
I think that'll be awesomely fun: we can start out meeting in the park for a potluck picnic, around 1:00 maybe? I'll pick up a portable grill and bring some hot dogs.
BUMP
What time do we want to meet, O Portlandspags?
i like 2:40, but you local spags can show up sooner then that... which reminds me to check with the gnome
Around 2 works out well for me, I have to clean the portland mercury earlier that day.
Cool, I'll tell everyone 2, and I'll be in the park with my grill and my hot dogs! Irving Park, near the playground.
I'd go to the park if you'd accept my apologies Nigel.
I'm still willing to buy you some sake. (Have bad puns ever had such potential to be so delicious?)
You don't have to bury the hatchet, you could just put it back on the shelf until you're sure I've turned over a new leaf.

OK, I accept your apologies, with thanks for them, and offer my own for the cruel things I've said. I confess I remain wary, but I'm willing to take a chance.
:)
Thank you.
That is very generous of you considering my role in the situation.
I accept your apology and caution as well.
I'm going, most likely.
It could possibly be the last time you ever see me IRL, so hug me extra.
^_^

WHYYYEEEEEE WHERE ARE YOU GOING?
I'm glad you're coming to this though.
Moving to a cottage in the woods of eastern CT to work on art and not pay rent.
I could be back, but I haven't planned that far ahead.
Cya soooons :3
gnome's girl had to go on a business trip so the gnome doesnt want to go willingly
and i cant remember where i put my ski mask and duct tape...
plus Thetis just wants to stay home and watch tv. :horrormirth:
hoping bring up the extreme thunderstorm canceling my roadtrip on 315
almost tempted to pm you spags her number in effort to get out of the house
maybe ill promise red lobster or something if it goes sour
didnt have time to make a large cat face, so no mysterious long cat to be left somewhere
but i do have buttons
What's the latest head count? I will bring cookies; I'll take any old excuse to make tons of cookies.
yeah not going, she doesnt want to get up until afternoon... so much for going to bed at midnight meaning anything
Even for free cookies?
Is everything ok? :(
yeah shes fine, its just 3 hour tour isnt in her cards today...
and she doesnt see the point of meeting strangers.
guess thats what i get for marrying an concordian
I wish I could go to this. I'd love to meet Nigel and the rest of you guys. I's be all queer like I was meeting celebrities.
Hee.
Aren't you supposed to be the rockstar?
Awww Yatto so sorry you guys aren't making it! She's gotta be tired, what with the incipient spawn and all. I hope I can meet you some other time!
My car is full of hot dogs, and a small gas grill. Woot! I realized as I was wheeling the cart out to the car that transporting this much stuff on foot might be problematic (even though it's only 1/2 block away) but then I remembered my little red wagon.
Actual attendance; I have no idea! I know about 6 or 7 for sure, but there could be up to 30.
Ack! Coookiieeeeeee!!!
:lulz:
yeah the spawn was her excuse for not wanting to go, im like isnt it only a tiny shrimp. and you had like 10+ hours
guess i dont understand somethings. maybe... its punishment for not doing something or whatever
dont know tho sometimes i swear she cancels all my fun just cause she a concordian or something... o well
theres always xday to plan for... and i might drive alone if she drags her feet again

... two more confirmations. So, likely at least a dozen. No idea if Brainwash and his crew are coming!
... it looks like no, because they have the plague.

The first trimester is the most exhausting, because her body has to build all this detailed stuff from scratch. Once babby is formed and all she has to do is grow it, she'll have more energy.
Liv, the kiddo, and I are going to make it! Yeah, sux Johnny has teh plague.

YAYYYY!
My kids are with their dads, but the father of the older two said he might be able to bring them, which would rock!
thanks nigee good to know our trip in july has some prospects of not being stuck in the hotel
eta: YAY comic con, flying to sandiego on the twenty second...
I had a painful medical episode today. Not going into gory details.
I've seen doctors repeatedly for my ailment when I had health insurance and they said, "We can't identify a problem. Sorry."
Now I don't. So I'm just going to suffer through it and hope it gets worse so they'll have more clues as to what is wrong with me.
No sense freaking out entertaining you Portland folks with my strange, embarrassing condition.
It would be a hell of a way to make a first impression too. "Oh yeah, you were the guy doubling over in pain every 30 to 40 minutes."
:x
That's Lame, Net.
I just got back (didn't want to stay too long in the rain, as I've been sick for the past 3 weeks). It was great seeing Sigmatic and Kalera in person!
The part I was able to attend was lots of fun, but my job is a hateful creature bent on spoiling all my social time.
It was awesome! Thanks for coming, you guys! We eventually moved the party to the Free House, and it picked up a few more people, who all proceeded to get extremely wasted and make out. I met some wonderful new people, and it was fabulous meeting Telarus and Sigmatic in person! And that delicious Princess Starbright.
The part where we were eating hot dogs in the park in the rain was AWESOME. And yes, drinking PBR out of a styrofoam cup DOES make me a "real lady".
PICTURES??
They are on my housemate's camera! She is at work. I will ask her for them when she gets home!
That was a lot of fun, it should happen more!
Maybe I can borrow mom2's huge weber during the summer and we can smoke a pork shoulder.
Oh my god. That would be AWESOME!
Yes it would. :D
I'll try and hook that up for sometime in July, maybe.
july fifth? :D
I dont have any engagements until the middle of the mouth
I'm hoping to be on a lonely piece of property in eastern Washington on the 4th, attempting to destroy my fingers, so probably not. Can't really pin a date down just yet though. What about late june?
Late June works for me, as far as I know.
If I'm not a putrid mass of cancerous jelly by then, I'd be down.
I would bring brussel sprouts though, so maybe I'm already uninvited.
No begging off this time, Net. If you can walk and/or talk, there's no excuse.
does icy hot help at all or just make it worse?

I'll inject it into my internal organs and get back to you.
topical use only, helps with sour tummys tho.
so its not muscles.
which organs are bothering you? is it like a kidney stone but like in your liver?

I appreciate the concern and suggestions but I'm not going to go into it.
I fucking love brussels sprouts.
FUCKING LOVE THEM.
I hope your stomach cancer gets better. Maybe you're horribly allergic to something? Celiac? That can come on late in life. I suppose they already tested you for that though.
Pictures are in!

Could be, but Kaiser was borderline negligent in how they handled it.
I seem ok as of today, though I'm ever so slightly hungover.
ETA: Looks like you guys had a good time, in spite of that demonic looking dude lurking behind you.
And yes, we did barbecue corn dogs.
WHAT

Well, if it weren't for souffle...

He might have been Eris.

I can't stop loving on that picture. It's just got so many elements of perfection, from the orange hoodie to Princess Starbright's unlit cigarette to the PBR and the styrofoam cup and the corn dogs and the gorgeous, idyllic background... it's just beautiful.
Looks like it was an awesome good time.
PBR, Mike's Hard Lemonade, and corn dogs. Classy stuff, man. ;) Looks like fun.
Classy stuff for classy people!
I just noticed this pic of me and Z-Man clearly plotting The Other Brother's death.

The colours are stupidly bright. It's unreal. The orange helps but it's just everything.

For some reason, that's what it looks like here when it's overcast, especially in Spring. The sky is gray but everything else is surreally vivid.
