Maternal line, straight back, just one minor turn in New Jersey but it's all good.

Or rather, thousands of cousins who are already on Ancestry.com and did the research for me. The Oakley line of the family has always been described to me by my mother as being nothing but English whores and warmongers. She was absolutely right. I also now have a reason to go Salt Lake City. One of my exponential great-grandfathers left his family in New York to become a Mormon which allowed him to have more wives and traveled the Mormon trail out west, getting married again on the way. He was married a total of 4 times. :x
I took the line straight back to the 1200s. The first documented Lord Oakley was in 1230, after that, Lord Roger Oakley was born in the 1260s. They were landed to Bishops Castle, looks like at some point in time they got an UPGRADE to found their own Parrish, and then some family members in the 1500s moved to Essex until Miles Oakley, born in 1612, decided to go help kick the Dutch out of New Amsterdam.
I got lucky, but I knew that the line was very strong already and I would be able to get it back to England. The Turners are going to be rough, as the Irish seemingly have a bad luck of getting their churches burned down, losing records in the process.
