HEY BOSTONIANS (and/or the rest of you), is anyone going to this?

The Tenets of The Tea Party
Sarah Palin and the Tea Party folks are coming into town on Wednesday, April 14th. We'll give them a welcome with a REAL Boston Tea Party.
More details of what is wanted below:
Some Principles Of A Tea Party:
-Good tea. I think that we should find ways to have genuinely good tea at the tea party — have water that's actually hot enough, and tea that's actually good enough.
-Good food. Everybody should attempt to bring tasty finger food — cucumber sandwiches, petits fours, or the like — whatever is within your budget and skill level, to share.
-Beautiful clothing. There's no point in having a counterprotest if you can't look good doing it. Everyone should attempt to dress to the nines, or, if you can't do that, at LEAST to the four-and-a-halves. Of course, TECHNICALLY, one shouldn't go to a tea party in evening dress, but, since so many people don't have proper morning coats these days, I think that it would be wise to let this slide.
-Similarly, beautiful china and linens. We should do our best to bring things that actually look nice. Nice things should be enjoyed.
-Inoffensiveness. This, I suspect, may be the most controversial proposal. I think that we should attempt to have the world's mildest, most inoffensive, polite counterprotest ever held. My ideal would be for the press to come up to interview people about their opinions on tax policies and health care, and have responses such as, "Oh, dear, isn't that a rather personal question?" and, "Really, I prefer not to discuss politics over tea. Would you care for a cup?"

I may just have to do this. In full fucking Victorian splendor.
It's April 14 (Wednesday), 10am - 1pm, Boston Common by the visitor center. :)
I really, REALLY wish I could go. I might try to hop down briefly on my lunch or something if I can manage it.

Are you going to be there Eve? If you bake delicious things I will definitely show up...I'll even have the exceptionally long feather in my hat.
Tricky timing.

I think I'm going to go for part of it. I have the day off, but realistically, I'm just not going to get down there by 10. Baking is a fantastic idea I hadn't even considered, but probably have time to do tomorrow. Just have to decide what kind of cupcake. Hmm..
I will supply delicious tea and even a teapot. I just need to be able to get hot water up there.
I figure we can always run into work (STUPID BARISTA JOB FINALLY GOOD FOR SOMETHING) and steal some from them. Then it's only a block or two walk to the tea party
Ofuk. I've wanted to do something since I heard she was coming. 10-1 is tough for the drive I'll have to make (and get to work) but it's do-able. Seriously considering this.

Do you want to carpool or can you meet me in Providence to take the train if it makes it any easier?

How much is train?
I'm seeing steampunk and victorian thrown around. I've got a single three button blazer (sports coat? I don't know the difference) and khakis, it's the best I can do.
$15 roundtrip.

Not bad. I guess it'll depend on train times then. I think the control from carpooling would be preferable.
We could take the 9:43am which will get us there around 11, and we walk to the Commons from South Station. We can take the 1:50pm back and get into Providence at 3.
If we drive, we can park at like, Braintree and take the Red Line all the way into Park St.
You can also park on/by my street. It can be a bitch because only one side of the street is free-for-all parking, but mid-morning is the time to catch a spot so you should be fine. And then it's just a hop on the C or D line.

Yeah, train won't work for sure then. I need to be at work by three, which ideally means back at my place around 2 to give myself time to get into my uniform and whatnot. Ideally I could manage that with it ending at one, but with traffic/parking/waiting for the T I just don't know that it's possible.
Suu, it looks like my most viable option is to head up to Boston the night before when I get out of work and stay at my girlfriend's place. I'd head from Hyde Park, probably using the Forest Hills stop to get downtown. I could stay for the duration if I leave exactly when it ends at 1 and go right from Boston to work (extra time allowing for delays). I guess I'll have to opt out of carpooling/taking the train altogether. Sorry. I'll definitely need to meet up with you fools when I get there, though.
What I'd like to know is, would LMNO's lengthy lunch breaks we've been hearing so much about in SME allow him to attend? I mean, you'd already be in reasonable attire (which we all know, again from SME).
I'll do what I can for the duds, but I really wish I had the stuff on hand to show up as the Mad Hatter.
It's cool. We'll all have to rendezvous somewhere.
I'm going to the fake tea party in Boston, Lincolnshire (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boston,_Lincolnshire).

I am totally sending you picture messages.
Picked up a tea cup and saucer at Savers for $2.13. Second batch of scones is in the oven (currant, first batch is blackberry).
Trying to figure out what to wear...my toes got torn up in the past couple weeks from my granny boots, so I need to find an more comfy alternative.
Shit, I don't think I'll be able to do this. The funds just aren't really there. :(

I need a fucking job.

Well crap, I wish I could swing it to carpool up there, the timing is just damn near impossible for me.
No worries, Suu. I encountered the same problem when I went to compile a shopping list to make cupcakes. Oh well. I'm going to try to swing by at some point before it ends, but may just enjoy the morning in bed instead. :) We'll see.
Alright, yeah I'm not going to make the drive up there and all that to hang out with a bunch of people I don't know. I could do that in New Bedford whenever. What do with all these scones.
Shit. Sorry dude. :(
Just back from a quick walk up to the commons. COuldn't see anythign going on, but I wasn't able to stay long enough for a proper look.
Wait a sec. Are you still working at South Station?
He just had to go back up there since Warwick plunged underwater.
You know, if you had told me, I could have taken the Orange line to state and met you for lunch somewhere.
The walk up was spur of the moment. Yeah, I'm working back in Boston for the time being.
Around should you want to meet.
Hrm. Imma PM ya.
Cool, will get back to yuo rpesently. shit jsut got real @ work
