I am currently training to be a weather spotter and storm chaser. Because I get to put fancy emergency lights on my Jeep.
A... weather...spotter?
As in, someone who goes around... looking for weather??
:lulz:
Man that must be the easiest job in the world...
"Rightio, lets see if we can find any weather today... Oh look, there's some! How the hell did it get there? We outta take some pictures before it gets away!
Did you bring the guns? That's a mighty big cloud over there, if we get a good shot at it, we can stuff it and put it on our mantelpiece!"
Are you a fan of crowded house? :lulz:
LMAO. We find very bad weather and go chase it. We look for tornados and hail and flooding.
We report directly to law enforcement and provide news channels with updates while trying to get as close as we can but still staying alive.

Man, where I'm from, we don't look for those things, those things come to us.
Well, cept for tornados. Gotta look pretty hard for those down here.
But yeah, right, I see lol.
Sounds "exciting".
Good luck with all that :)
I'm a spotter! I took a spring break and chased tornadoes through Arkansas and Texas. It's a shitload of fun!

I am looking forward to it very much. We have a few spotter networks around here.

I need to get recertified soon. I need to see if there are some classes coming up around here. It's useful during hurricane season because there's only a handful of us in Rhode Island. I just don't have all my equipment anymore. I sold it all for drugs to pay some bills when I moved up here.

Internetz. The Spotter Network.
I'm assuming you're training through SkyWarn, right?
Ahh...
You should find out when the next SkyWarn training class is near you. That's the actual NOAA spotter program. It's free.

Yeah definitely do. They're worth it. We only have winter classes here for some reason. :argh!:
Possible severe t-storms and tornados today.
Weather spotting is an interesting past-time. My sister and brother-in-law have done it for awhile. My neice was the youngest spotter in their area for awhile. They never get to see anything exciting other than hail though.

That one is a doozy. Already killed 3 people in Oklahoma.
So, are you a ham?
also, have you thought about how you can weave O:Mf into this?

Since it involves peoples lives I intend to leave O:MF out of it. Also no ham, CB.
