All of the changes Washington is making to "better future generations" is completely pointless. It isn't going to make a bit of difference because our children and grandchildren are going to be too stupid to take over. We might as well just throw in the towel now.
We are not creating a nation of well educated, free thinking, inventive, and motivated leaders, which are characteristics that are mandatory for our nation to thrive.
We are creating a nation of deprived, non-expressive, uneducated followers that are taught that education is not important, and thinking for yourself, and standing up for what you believe in are bad qualities. They see that their government doesn't care about them, their education, their well being, or their out of work parents.
The government that is supposed to be providing them a quality education, seems to think that it is more important to spend money on war, banks, and cars, and take away their buses, music, libraries, art, p.e., school books, teachers and school days to pay for it.
California is ranked 46th in the nation for per-pupil funding, and 47th on the list of K-12 smartest states. It is ranked 49th in adults with an education of high school or higher.
We live in El Cajon, CA. In the Cajon Valley School District they have taken away elementary school buses. Yet, high schools, where the kids are more capable of driving, walking, and riding bikes, have buses.
The elementary libraries are only open 4 hours, every other week and middle schools, 2 days a week.
There are no art, music, or p.e. programs, with the teachers trying to pick up the slack, but failing because they have too high of a work load, too many students, not enough funding to get what they need, and not enough help. Not to mention absolutely no motivation as they make poverty wages, and are in constant fear of losing their jobs.
The elementary schools no longer have health aides, and only have custodial services every 3 days.
Summer school has been eliminated, and we are still going to lose another 148 teachers and $40 million in the next two years, just in our district.
Our education system is a joke and our elected officials keep making it worse.
You think that cutting funding for schools is such a great idea, and will impact our youth in a positive way in the future. Where did you all go to school? Stupidville Elementary School in Idiotic Ideas, CA.??!!
I am sorry to be so harsh, but our government is stripping our youth of their future, while leaving them a huge debt that they are going to be too ignorant to figure out how to pay off.
Your political generation has completely destroyed our country, and have made it impossible to recover. But, who cares, right? You won't be affected by the damage you have done. You won't have to deal with what was once the world's richest nation crumbling to the ground. You are going to leave it to the future generations that don't even have a fighting chance.

Education should be our number one priority. We have no future without it. Unemployment rates, technology, and production are going to continue to decline as our youth become less and less educated.
All of you that are supposed to be representing the American people need to wake up and see our reality! The normal, low income American family that the government keeps taking from.
Represent us, and our children, not your political agenda. To be honest, we don't care about 90% of the crap you all represent. We have our priorities straight- our kids, our jobs, our homes, and our health. Everything else will not matter to us until our top priorities are taken care of.
We need jobs that pay enough to actually survive on, so we can keep our homes, and pay for health care. I would like to see all of you try to live on $20 per hour, let alone minimum wage. None of the money given to fix our economy has trickled down to us. Our unemployment rates are so extremely high, that these big companies are taking advantage of the situation and dropping wages so low that you can't even provide for your family. Our wonderful welfare system sets the maximum income so low that, even at minimum wage, you cannot qualify for help.
We need our children to receive the quality education that they deserve, and are entitled to as Americans, so they can grow up and have a chance of bringing this country back to what it should be.
It's time that our elected officials start remembering what their jobs really are:

Article 21.

Article 25.

Article 26.
• (1) Everyone has the right to education. Education shall be free, at least in the elementary and fundamental stages. Elementary education shall be compulsory. • (2) Education shall be directed to the full development of the human personality and to the strengthening of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. It shall promote understanding, tolerance and friendship among all nations, racial or religious groups, and shall further the activities of the United Nations for the maintenance of peace.
• (3) Parents have a prior right to choose the kind of education that shall be given to their children.
Article 28.
• Everyone is entitled to a social and international order in which the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration can be fully realized.
Article 29.
• (1) Everyone has duties to the community in which alone the free and full development of his personality is possible.
• (2) In the exercise of his rights and freedoms, everyone shall be subject only to such limitations as are determined by law solely for the purpose of securing due recognition and respect for the rights and freedoms of others and of meeting the just requirements of morality, public order and the general welfare in a democratic society.
• (3) These rights and freedoms may in no case be exercised contrary to the purposes and principles of the United Nations.
I think all of our elected officials need to go back and really look at the foundation of this, once, great country, and remember why they are there in the first place. You are all watching the majority of your people suffer, while you prosper, and daily, you impose more devastation on the people you are meant to protect, and represent.
We trusted in our government and have been failed. It is time you all step up and fix the mess you have created, earn your people's trust back, and give us the education, opportunities and support that we deserve.

And our grandson has not heard a word from her in almost 3 years! Do you think he wants to open a can of worms for $361 a month? So, we have to keep them afloat & we've been retired for almost 20 years. Do Illegal's wait that long? I doubt it. They just keep having more babies at our expense. That law on "being born here automatically makes you a citizen" HAS to be amended & soon & made retroactive.

The majority of these ARE indeed awful. I was appalled the other night how many Californians were writing Ah-nold asking him to draft bill(s) similar to AZ's immigration law. However, once in a while I'd recognize a "don't cut education funding" one that the PTA drafted and I'd smile. But most of these are the turd cries of the ignorant or the frustrations of those who are angry but don't know why so they pick a lameass issue and move forward in an awkward but passionate manner.
What's pathetic are those who are asking their legislators for direct monetary, prison sentence, etc. assistance. :( Those made me sad.

Well, he's right about Obama's incompetency, but that's about it. Also, it's amazing to note how much of that letter was a string of poorly linked cliches, as if the ability to construct an argument was replaced by listening to talk radio.
