HAI. i have recently broke the part of my tablet that goes into the computer. its a usb thingy
i dropped something in it and it caved in. HOW I FIX?
or...does anyone know if there are places that will take the metal thinger out and put a new one on?
I DONT WANNA PAY 300$ FOR A NEW TABLET :x :x :x
Fred that SUX.
If you have just damaged the metal "collar" piece that give it the right shape to connect to a USB port, and haven't damaged the internal plastic piece with the metal connectors, then it should be an easy fix.
I'm not sure where you'd go to get that done, tho...

Computer repair shop perhaps? :P
Those guys will rip you off.
Please to take good clear pic of damage and maybe we can see if can fix??
well i tried to de-squish it with pliers and it ALMOST fits back in
i also looked into buying a replacement cord for it but mines too old and they dont make them anymore :\
the inside plastic bit is slightly bent too but not much...
i guess i will try to find a repair place. better not cost alot :argh!:
Do you have any really fine needle-nosed pliers? I've had a similar thing happen and fixed it with jewelry pliers; needlenose ones are pretty cheap at a hardware store if you don't have any.
yeah i got it almost fixed with those but not quite enough to get in. i think i need to gently hammer it sideways now :x
This thread is making me cringe. Poor Fred's tablet.
Good luck fixing, fred.
