Even if they can mount it on a bomber, and get the go ahead for use from command, the actual pilots would then have to launch knowing full well then ignition would blow them out of the sky.

maybe he was trying to think ahead (without telling anyone he was doing it), with only knowing that icbm's deliver nukes

the nuclear devices themselves aren't all that large, so you could, hypothetically, get a re-entry capable craft into a position to deliver just like a MIRV would.

It wouldn't be efficient, but this is Mitt we're talking about.

It occurs to me there is no treaty that prevents ICBMs being mounted on bear cavalry. On bombers. On submarines.

Clearly, we need more international treaties to solve this issue.
