You are up to cruising speed and the road looks and feels like a silk ribbon laid out nice and straight and smooth.

Just wait until you go over a small hill you can't see and as your tires leave the ribbon you notice a 90 degree turn. Then you just have to take the lumps.
This old man isn't saying to slow down, in fact I am saying speed up. Just be aware you will crash, several times if you are doing it right.
