Title: Ding Dong, the Steinbrenner is dead.
Post by: Suu on July 13, 2010, 03:20:00 PM
George Steinbrenner was pronounced dead at 6:30am this morning in Tampa.

Yankees fans are crying.

Boston fans are rejoicing.

And Rays fans are already drafting plans to bulldoze his complex in Tampa so they can build a new stadium for themselves so they can get out of the ghetto of St. Pete.

Hmmm....

I feel vaguely bad for him actually.

Wonder how he handled ownership of the team?  One child or between them?  THAT should make for an interesting couple of years.  Think they'll sell?

His son already has control. I don't know what they're going to do though. He also owns a sizable chunk of the city of Tampa, so like Twid said, this can get interesting.

Yeah, nothing brings out the worst in a family like the dividing up of wealth and estate.

I just don't want the Glaziers to touch ANYTHING.

We want the collapse of this to be severe enough to where they're sell Legends Field to the Rays so we can tear it down and build a new ballpark across from Raymond James Stadium.

...They won't be that lucky. They need to build it in Toytown (old closed dump), because downtown St. Petersburg is a pain in the ass to get to for anyone who DOESN'T live on the interstate.
