How much buggery can you inflict on them?

You're not scoring any points that way.

Somewhere between "pretty" and "horribly"

I will start on the page where they ask me to list all of the channels available through my cable tv package.

Like hell I'm doing that for 5 Washingtons.

This is what the Mrs and I are determining.  By their letter, they fancy us as the "average family representing your area".  We'll see about that.

I don't have the patience for it.

Las ttime I did one I just left it with one tv on cartoon network, the other on food channel and the other on cable porn and figured I covered everyone's bases!!!

Inform them that you were not even aware that your television had an "ON/OFF" button and your family just enjoys sitting around watching the dark, reflective screen.

Dear Nielsen,

How do I TV?

Love,
The WHNs.

So as I mentioned, on page 2 they want me to list every channel I get, what channel it is on, and where it is from.  I'm going to print out a screen cap of a Google search with "auburn maine time warner cable lineup" in the search box, and paste it to the page.

what is that, some sort of survey to check who watches what?

I suppose best way of trolling them is filling out the questions as if you're a teabagger (or some other horrible large part of the population), while watching terribly interesting things.

Tell them you wish there was a channel that was nothing but commercials so parents could punish their kids with the television, instead of reward them with it.

I think there's a satellite channel that's nothing but commercials.

Only one? My in-laws' satellite feed has at least 4 of those, if not more.

Wait.  I don't watch too much tv, so I don't know 'the ropes'.

I just tried to invent a channel that is as bad as imaginably possible.  And it exists?  And people watch it?

Infomercials are big business. How do you think Billie Mays was able to afford all of that cocaine?

The commercials are actually not as bad as most of the shows, it makes perfect sense to me.

We'd probably have more if we didn't have all of the French-speaking channels.  We have a lot of Frenchies living around here.

Infomercials are like commercials, but longer. Channels (Home Shopping Network, etc.) devoted to them are the sole domain of insomniac shopaholics who might possibly be interested in fabulous Princess Diana key fobs or Diamonelle jewelery or "simulated" anything, up to and including the Serious Skin Care Serious Colour 1-Year Celebration Kit With 1-Year Subscription to W Magazine.

In other words, people whose hands are permanently attached to their credit cards and whose asses are permanently attached to their couches. The biggest cabbages in the entire fucking patch.

A lot of the cable channels will stop programming at around 1 or 2 am and run the informercials non-stop until about 7 or 8 am.  The other ones just seem to run and repeat the same 3 hour block of programming into the night.

You learn and observe these things when you have a baby that needs to be fed in the wee hours of the morning.

Also, fuck you Nielsen, I haven't been filling out my diary.  I need to hire an intern to do it.
