No more sticking stuff on the fridge. And the kids, she says, are getting incredibly good at Marketing Themselves. I didn't know how to rage at that. It just simmers.
Sounds like the golden apple winner from this year

How ironic that the award is a golden apple....Or how disgusting. Haven't quite decided.

I think you're right.
"Her
business partners are 5 year olds." Same cut, same cloth: rubrics, outcomes, standardized tests. I think the woman I mentioned is more disturbing, though.
This and Dok's thread are stirring something up. Thanks.

Since when has anyone ever had to go out of their way to make 6 year olds want to learn?

Only when you teach bullshit, IE, the american school system.
I guarantee that talking about reality to a 6 year old would be highly fascinating. Choose the part they're most interested in, and move from there.

Today children will be learning shapes. Yes Billy?
Why is the sky blue?
That is not what we are learning today. Pay attention. -makes note to have Billy examined by the child psychologist for ADHD and related disorders and to be medicated if possible-
