what happened to borderline?
I should point out, the reason why this song is currently my official theme song was because I went to a casino last night with $80 in my pocket and 12 hours later left with $800... 8)

Heh. Keep going to the casino long enough, and you'll find out who the sucker is.
:lulz:
Yeah, all the people who try to play poker against a magician who knows how to count cards and studies psychology
OP ain't horrible, ain't amazing. Kind of reminds me of G. Love, but with a Brit accent. I'd still take The Streets' 1st album over this, but it's mad decent.
Why does everyone keep thinking this guy is british?
AUSSIE GUYS, FFS, WE ARE ABOUT AS BRITISH AS AMERICANS ARE
To all you haters of that song, I have only one thing to say to you all:
Ya mama's (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYf2Dh71RgY&feature=related)on the top of my things to do list

be careful with that. If Aussie casinos are anything like American casinos, the house will figure out what you're doing eventually and then they'll have Vinnie take you outside and thump you to within an inch of your life.
Anyway, if you're THAT good, you oughtta be finding private games. That's where the REAL money is.

ok, 1- Casinos only don't like you if you know how to play black jack because you're playing against the house.
In poker, the casino gets a "Rake" a percentage of the profits no matter who wins, and they love poker players, good or bad.
Two, the thing about taking you out the back to meet vinnie is an urban legend perpetrated by movies which the casinos endorse to stop people from even *thinking* about learning to card count.
And actually, I *was* invited to a private game after everyone saw me take down the "shark" of the table. I can't help but feel a little bit honored. (and a bit scared, what if they want to break my legs after I take everyones money? No casino security to help you there, and I've seen people get *really* fucking upset when they lose all their money so I know it happens, apparently the week before I was at the casino, someone tried to kill the person who beat him and security had to restrain him and call the cops)
Anyway, heres my new plan in life: Make lots of money playing poker, start travelling the world and seeing you spags by the end of the year and trying my hand at Vegas.
See you guys in about a year. 8)
Heh. Urban legend, my ass. I've SEEN it happen to an old roommate of mine when I lived in CA. I was the one who had to go pick his bleeding ass up from a Texaco somewhere out on the outskirts of the city. And though you're right about the house rake, you're wrong about them not caring if people count cards at the poker table. They'll probably just assume that you're using those skills to rip them off at other games, or at the very least decide to ban you from the property to prevent such a thing from eventually occurring. Go for the private game and be smart enough to know when to back off, assuming you don't lose your shirt, which is quite likely. They probably invited you because they figure you're just good enough and just overconfident enough to be dead money at their table.
Not that I think you'll listen to my advice, but I'll feel bad if I don't offer it. :lulz:
ECH,
been around that block and learned the hard way before
We'll see who's laughing in the next 12 or so months my friend, we'll see.
But I thank you for your concern, I understand you're only trying to look after me so I appreciate it.

Actually, brain research on gamblers has shown that this is literally true and why some people end up becoming addicted to gambling. Like the drug addict chasing for the bigger high, the compulsive gamblers are chasing the "big win".

What can I say, I have an addictive personality.
But when I play, I play to win. If I don't win, I don't play. Lately, I've done a lot of winning. And if I'm not just a over-confident lucky moron and there is actually *something* to being able to count cards and knowing good poker strategy and psychology, I'll be able to keep this up for quite a while.
Lots of luck, Lys. It would tickle me pink to know that somebody I know has gotten all balllllinnnnn on house money. Take 'em for all they're worth then GTFO!

I don't need luck Cram, but thanks.
All I need is odds, probability, psychology and good lookin women to win.
Ok, and there's a little bit of luck involved, but I try not to make it a factor.
Have you considered going in the APL tournaments?
In Wollongong they have a couple of free ones, with $500 first prize. And a few that are $20-50 entry with several grand first prizes. Plus if you go well enough you can play in invitation only events and the like.

We'll see. Tournament playing requires a different poker discipline than ring games, one that I haven't quite got as good a grasp on as ring games, but we'll see, maybe one day.

Well, if you end up on any of the televised poker tournaments, just remember to give us a shout out. I'll give you bonus internets if you crack a pun.

You could literally lose a person in that moose-knuckle.
I'm going to give you encouragement and say you will do really well and make a lot... until the day you unknowingly sit down at a table filled with cardcounting overblown but fragile ego'd discordians who will fleece you for every penny you are worth.
Counting cards is why gaft decks are so fun
