...dunno, it's totally a different pain.  I'd have to say child labor because even through 2 doses of epi I felt that shit, AND the sewing up after.  With a toothache, you take an analgesic or vicodin if it's truly bad and it's livable.

:lulz:  Horrible Troofs about childbirth:  it AIN'T pretty.  None of it.  Your insides hang outside, and yeah, they sew you, staple you, cut you at will.

I chose it can't be compared.

I would say for men the closest thing said to childbirth is passing a kidney stone.

So gentlemen, think about pissing a rock (NOT SMOOTH) about the size of a pea, through your penis....   I understand you guys can feel it almost the whole way from your bladder.

Got that image?  HOLD IT!!!

Now add blood, a lot of name calling and someone passed out on the floor of the delivery room.

Wait, where are you going?  :?

Yeah, the only comparison I thought I could make is the kind of meds and their effects on the pain mentioned.  The kind of pain it is of course is completely different.  But the ways you can mitigate it are pretty similar:  narcotics.

my wife is so fucking tough that she went all natural.
no pain meds of any sort.
she just squatted holding on to a bed post while i jammed my fist into her lower back for a good number of hours.
then laid back, and shot that little monster out into my waiting mits.
no tearing.
no cutting. (except when i cut the cord)
and we left for home with the new kiddo within 6 hours of birth.

and she did it twice.

I love and fear this woman.

Well this thread has been quite enlightening.

If giving birth is worse then a terrible toothache, all I have to say is: Fuck I'm glad I'm not a woman.

That is all.

Oh, and before any of you go off at me, I mean that in a good way, as in, I'm such a fucking pussy cus I was crying on the floor in agony when I had that toothache a few weeks ago, I couldn't begin to imagine what it must be like for you lot and I really really hope I never find out.

And I never had a kidney stone, and I  hope to the goddess that I never will.

My friend who's a pill junkie got that way because of kidney stones, too.

I did natural birth three times and I tore all three times, but not too badly. Healed up quite well. If I had to have another baby for some inexplicable reason, like it was humanity's only hope, I'd do it again.

I have a root canal from a tooth dying and getting infected, and I've had dry socket in my wisdom teeth, and if that's as bad as it gets I'd definitely have to say that childbirth was more painful overall, though a different kind of pain. I never actually thought I was going to die or anything, but it did cross my mind that I wasn't going to be able to do it (as if I had the option of stopping!) especially with the last one, which was a particularly long and challenging labor.

My tonsillectomy/sinus surgery was worse, though. Oh, my. Much, much worse.

I've had a toothache that was marginally worse than childbirth, but only because the eventual extraction was even more traumatizing, so much so that I now have a flat out phobia of dentists and their procedures.
