That is the deadline for submissions to the Audio Book of the Dead.
I currently do not have enough to publish. The best I can manage with what I have is a booklet to throw up on kindle or whatnot.
I'd prefer to do an annual "best of" that has a print copy option (After the MSY debacle, only prepaid orders will be accepted and sent to print, by the way), but I need about twice as much material as I have.
Here's the deal. YOU put up what YOU consider to be your best work. If you like someone else's shit, tell them to submit it.
All profits will go to Faust, for the purpose of maintaining this board, and all rights will remain with the author, "Used by permission". That means once you give permission, I can put it in the book for any number of printings, but ONLY in this issue. You own it other than that. Consider carefully, because once permission is given, it can't be retracted.
It's going to take me a couple of months to get it into printable format, if enough material is submitted, and orders will be taken between November 15th and December 5th. Otherwise, I'll just heave it up on Kindle at the end of the year, and you can order it there. A kindle version will be available either way, but if a print edition is run, the kindle version won't be up until February 1st.
All manner of visual art or writing is welcome, but bear in mind that this will NOT be a color issue.
That is all.
ETA: Author's credits will be attributed, of course.
ETA 2: Editing will consist of formatting, proof-reading, etc. No changes will be made to the wording of any submission unless requested.
How much more material do you need?

How much more material do you need?
I want 180 pages, minimum. I'd prefer not to use more than 2-3 pages from any one piece of work, though I will use any amount of material from any one person.
hmm... Most of my "good stuff" has already appeared in Intermittens or been submitted to other writing projects like the prophetica discordia... I want to help, but I'm kind of at a loss for what else to post...
any suggestions, people?
I think you already took what I consider to be some of my best work.

I see no problem with re-using material. This IS a "best of", as I said. Right now, I'm accepting anything written up to and including tomorrow, no matter where it has previously appeared, or how old it is.
Next year, I will only be accepting work done between October 2d, 2010, and October 1, 2011.
You're welcome to use this if you think it will work with the "no colour" thing but somehow I doubt it, but hey, its on offer so do with it as you will.

If you're happy with the amount you've contributed, no sweat. I'm just letting people know that the deadline is tommorow.
Fred needs to submit some artwork. Or I'll stomp on a kitten.

Can't see that from this comp. There's a submissions thread in bring & brag.
Done.
those are good, lys, but you're not going to be able to make out the text in grayscale... If you did them with a border around them or something it might work better. Not a lot of foreground/background contrast as it is

Yeah, I kinda thought that, but I don't have much else to contribute atm... oh maybe one other thing actually now that I think about it, something I started but I never really finished but I don't know if I ever intended to finish, I think it's better as an unfinished work...
Also, I'm crediting your work to your screen name here, unless told otherwise.

Feel free to toss in that too, if it makes the nut.

Please to toss into submissions thread.
Okay, I put three more up, if they make the grade feel free, if not, no biggie. I also prefer Charley to Henny.

No choice, in your case. Youngman's estate would sue us all to death, and then piss on our graves.
I posted some stuff. Dunno if it's what you wanted.
Oh! I just remembered something I want to put in! Must go post diving, be back shortly.

Credit the terrorists have already won to "the cosmopolitan patriot". And yeah, Discordian ideals to this screen name.
I posted something else. I think that's three or four things. Please to use "LMNO", because to the unknowing, "Alphapance" sounds like some sort of territorial monkey man.

Okay.
I'll try to get my pamphlet on the dangers of archangels done tonight.
I have about 6 submissions in now, dunno if they're what your looking for (or any good). If they're used, I'm happy to go for whatever your standard treatment of contributions and authors is. To credit as Payne.
Not submtted any of my WMPs, but if you want any, I'm happy for them to be used.
Can't really think of anything else that I've done that had any kind of actual impact even here, so I guess they'd have no place in TABotD. If anyone can think of something they think I should submit though, give me a holler and I'll submit it.
Anything of mine may be used, so long as it is run by me first so I can make any last minute edits I feel are needed.

I'd prefer you select what you think are your best work(s).
Honestly, I couldn't say. Right now I don't think especially highly of most of them, and I'm not sure what everyone else has already donated and so whether they would fit the emerging theme (I'm assuming there is one).

There isn't one. Just the stuff you like best.
I can't personally add them, but I would like to see Kai include some or all of his In Those Days series. They were great reads.

Your essay on "satire as a weapon" or "humour as a weapon" is definitely one of my favourites.
Additionally, the "Interregnum" series is pretty good (even though, afaik it's not finished? but that's okay).
I put in 4 I think, three from here and another that was elsewhere, but is pretty greusome :lulz:
Thanks!
Got enough, Dok?

For the moment. I'm not sure yet how many pages I have, after that massive dump yesterday.
:lulz:
I kept out a lengthy short story I posted in Bring & Brag because you said you didn't want to dedicate too many pages to one piece. If you need more to make it to print, even though the deadline is technically over, I could toss that in as well.

Stuff it in there.
Gotta stop procrastinating on that stuff I wanted to do. :argh!:
