Tell me about your latest hat purchase. GS needs a slouch hat...thinking about field trip to Salmagundi's. Please advise.
Latest hat purchase was actually made by Mrs LMNO for my birthday... It's a custom made fedora/trillby, one of eight in existence. No pics of it as yet. Plus, I just won a raffle, and Salmagundi has given me a London Bobby helmet; I'm picking it up this weekend.
I can't remember off the top of my head their slouch selections (not really my style), but I'm sure you can find something, and they will certainly point you in the right direction if they don't have what you're looking for. I highly reccommend Salmagundi, for both of you; Andrea and Jessen (proprietors) really know their shit, have excellent taste, and are really helpful. Feel free to drop my name.
Actually, I'll hit the up on Faceplace right now, and ask about any slouch hats available.
Thanks. I can't wait to check this place out.

When you go, wear diapers.
It is indeed full of awesome. I almost felt like I was going agaisnt the spirit of things, asking after a (plain) black fedora, with their selection slanted towards the more elaborate and jaunty. No worries though, they still checked the stock, advised on fitting / care, etc. as for everything/everyone else in the store.
It's a hell of a hat too, considering it's stood up to me for over a year now.
On the Planet of Hats, (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/PlanetOfHats) Salmagundi is akin to Mecca.
I almost got an amazing riding hat at NYCC...It was pretty jaunty and I looked amazing, but I had to budget. Stupid money.
Ah, yes. While some hats at Salmagundi can get pricey, many are in the $30-$60 range.
But oh, the accessories! Suu, there is a curio cabinet filled with awesome... stuff. Be prepared to spend more than you thought you would.

...I don't know if I'm weeping with joy or the emptiness of my wallet.
