Come gather 'round spags
Wherever you roam
And admit that the shit storm
Around you has grown
And accept it that soon
You'll be stenched to the bone.
If your mind to you
Is worth savin'
Then you better stop grunting'
Or you'll conform like a clone
For the times they are a-changin'.
Come writers and critics
And philosopher clowns once again
And keep your goatse wide
The chance won't come again
And don't speak to the no0b
Whos hamster wheel's still spin
And there's no tellin' what
He might be blamin'.
For the losers now
Will be tossed in the bin
For the times they are a-changin'.
The senators and congressmen
Can't hear the call
They stand in the doorway
To block up the hall
For he that shits hate
Will be he who is called
To the battle outside ragin'.
It'll soon shake your windows
Like a punch in the balls
For the times they are a-changin'.
Come motherfuckers
Throughout the land
And don't be ignoring
What you don't understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are under our command
Your old ways are
Rapidly agin'.
Please GTFO of the new way
If you can't lend some mittens
For the times they are a-changin'.
The map has been torn
C'thulu's been cast
The slow one now
Will never be fast
So he might as well just
Get a kick in the ass
The order/disorder is
Rapidly fadin'.
And the first word in the line
Will later be CAPS
For the times they are a-changin'.
FUCK YES.
You WILL be playing and recording this, yes?
Would like to hear it myself

I spose I can try. The boys have been a bit... disagreeable we'll say, these days.
Maybe LMNO and Twid would like to help me put it together?

Yes, I'll lay down some riffs. Perhaps LMNO should go first with the beats so I have a general framework, if he's down.
The original is just a beat-up acoustic guitar, but I could throw a 3/4 loop down.

I say we re-write TO THE WALL!
Increase tempo
Electric guitars
Chainsaws for back-up vocs
DOUBLE BASS!!!!!!!

Ok, I'll get to work.
I'm listening to it atm, the harmonica could lend to some good lead fills (I never really listened to Dylan, so I had no idea )

Well, I guess long story short, we've been doing essentially the same thing for almost 10 years. It's more of a "hobby" to them these days. No motivation for any real progress.

Then give 'em the cure. If that doesn't work, find a new band. If you haven't gone anywhere in 10 years, then you probably never will.
They're tight as a bigot's anus in a bathhouse, but their sound is... dated.
Force them to listen to Fugazi's 13 Songs and Repeater. Even the hardest punks branch out.
Or, move to JP and let's get our Gaga on.

Has anyone notified her of her Sainthood yet?
There are rumors she is already the official figurehead of the new Illuminati...

I don't see why that should stop us.
Dimo and LMNO-
I thought of something a couple of hours ago. Would you two be interested in forming a temporary side project and doing a couple of shows in Boston and Providence? Nothing schmancy or anything, basically just for fun and a little bit of musical collaboration/perspective broadening. We could probably just get a setlist of songs together like this- take a song, change the lyrics, change the pace but still have it be recognizable as the song that inspired it.

I'm down if you can get me to Mass. or if you guys can come to Providence. I'm all for it, but, unfortunately, transportation WILL be an issue for me. At least for the time being.

Schedule wise it would be tricky for me, but I figure for rehearsal, we could just have some tracks online that we practice to and just do the show. For any shows of course we could work out what needs to be done transportation wise and what not.
Drum Track: http://ifile.it/1c860tv/Times%20Drum%20Track.mp3
Please note: There is a four bar intro to each verse. Also, the first and third lines of every verse has an extra bar tacked on. Listen to the original, and you'll know what I'm talking about.
Please to enjoy.
Sounds good.
You're up, Twid.
I'm thinking when the guitar tracks and stuff are down, we should get together on a Friday or Saturday to do vocs, so we can get you guys in some back-up tracks.
Cool cool. I'm staying at A Villager's house for the next several days to tend to her, but I'll have use of her car. I'll have to swing back to my place and pick up my guitar and 4 track and such. Will work on it tomorrow and Tuesday.

Still having a problem with that site- could you upload it to Sound Cloud?

btw, for relatively small files like this (up to 10mb, iirc), using your shiny new PD email accounts would be perfect.
Thanks Trip!
dimo and LMNO, will start working on this this afternoon.
Pretty behind on this, but I'm back from taking care of A Villager and can focus on this a little more.
Cool song.
