Me too, but we shouldn't have a day in which we have to remind people to thank the troops. They should do it every day, IMO.

I agree, but I don't see the two as being mutually exclusive. They still deserve an official state-sanctioned holiday in their honor.

Also, weren't you in the Air Force? That's pretty close to being in the military, so thanks to you too.

Thanks, but I was just a weekend warrior. I never saw active duty and ran screaming before I could get deployed. I often wish I had reenlisted...I think my life would have been more fulfilling.

In most places I get thanked for my service the moment the person discovers I am a Soldier.

I was thinking, in honor for you all stepping up and volunteering to protect my rights as a US citizen, I'd burn the American flag.  Because of your service, I get to do that.  It's a pretty rare thing to be able to do.
