I want to do another shirt run, this time with other colors and maybe a different design.
The OLPC logo will be offered again, as she seemed very popular (and attracts A LOT OF attention!) and either I do the Homegirl one again, or try something else. Also going to see about the option for girly-size tees from my printer.
Also: Patches. I've had a request for patches, and I'm going to see how much that will run too, and how many I could actually sell to make it worth it.
Totebags: Storebrand is an owner of one of my custom-drawn totes, but what about screen-printed ones? I'll still do custom ones for those that want them of course.
Anything else?
ALSO: I WILL BE TURNING A PROFIT THIS TIME. PRICES WILL BE HIGHER, BUT NOT MUCH.
What did you have in mind for a patch design?
LMNO wants OLPC screenprinted on black twill all punk rawk I believe. Drew should be able to knock those out for me no prob, but he'll have to make a different screen size, which will probably cost me. If not, I may be able to order embroidered patches, but those typically require a minimum of 100, and payment in advance. I think the patch run I did for Kamino Base actually cost me over $300 between setup fees and 100 patches.
Yeah, embroidered patches won't be cheap unless I have 50 committed purchases. (That's patches sold, not people buying.)
So if I order 50 3" diameter patches, I'd have to sell them at $6 each for me to actually profit. It will cost me about $3 each to get them made. If I have enough interest for people to purchase 100, then the price will be lower...but I'd still have to sell a great deal of them to make it worth it, even if I take, say, 50% profit, on 50 patches, the price on each would be $4.50, plus shipping (which would be cheap, I can send 2 them in normal envelopes, even overseas, and 3 or more in 4x9" manilas.)
So if it's something the spags can commit to...then yes. I'll do it, but if not, I can't really afford to make the investment.
If it's just for my benefit, don't worry about it -- I can go even more punk, and get a T-Shirt then cut out the design and saftey pin it onto the back of my jacket.
Incidentally, what colors are you thinking of this time?
Blue was suggested. Maybe red...Maybe red ON blue!
I've always been a fan of the classics: Black on white, white on black, black on red, black on brown, etc.
I know the bright dayglow colors are appealing to some, but I've tended to be more of an Autumn, if you know what I mean.
Although, yellow on blue could be pretty cool.
I like the screen printed patch idea.
I would buy some.
Oooh, specially if they're like black on coal or something

Oh, man. The
really cool/badass combinations. Black on rough hewn/natural brown, black on coal, silver on black, you know the score.
Black on Coal?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't coal also black?
(obviously I am exposing myself as really uncool and good-ass, and pretty much if not completely oblivious to the score)
When you put it like that...
:lulz:
I was thinking more like "Black1" on "Black2", or, "Less Black" on "More Black"... Because there are a lot of varitions when you combine "black" with "fabric".
LMNO
-knows the Goth's wardrobe dilemma.
Hm yeah, I know what you mean now.
- 000,
used to date one.
makes it as good as impossible to discern black shirts from black underwear and black socks and pants if they're discarded in a heap of semi-clean laundry.
More like, You put on a black shirt with black pants and a black jacket, and you suddenly realize you're wearing three distinctly different colors, and it looks tacky*.
*That is, tackier than it is supposed to look.
This is my hell.
I meant black on medium-ish to dark-ish grey sorta.
:lulz:
I love you guys. I'm going to talk to Drew tonight and see what the color options are and what kind of a dealio we can do.
yellow on blue sounds good but might not be until the new year when i have the change for it

Never been a goth and I have had that happen to me before. :horrormirth:
Once I stop telling myself I am broke I would be interested in patches too. And when I am not broke, I'll be buying a tshirt or two or more.
Wonder how my mother would react to a OLPC shirt if I gifted it to her.
Patches would be awesome. Maybe a shirt depending on how poor I am when you start.
For those interested, can you please go to the following link and take a survey?

Thanks!
So, any updates on the survey results? What color does it look like the shirts will be?
They can be printed on a 1z right?
I have the shirts but I'd be interested in four patches. Maybe more.
I just bought a shirt and a jumper, but I think patches would be an awesome idea.
I'd put down for a patch or two.
I WILL SEW THEM TO MY BUTT!!!
Right now, black shirts with purple ink is winning. o.O
I voted for purple ink. But not for black shirts.
In addition to this, it also looks like I'll be publishing a horrific cocktail recipe book.
All proceeds of the book will go toward my life-long dream of having a fully stocked bar in my house with nothing but top shelf deliciousness.
Ew.
Take 20oz bottle drink of mountain dew 'whiteout', drink the top down to the label, pour two shots of lucid or whatever absinthe brand you use. Shake, serve chilled
