Title: Hey Aput...
Post by: Suu on December 13, 2010, 06:20:44 PM
While you're busy destroying roofs of football stadiums, we have yet to get an inch of snow in Rhode Island since the season started. I don't know if I should say "thanks" or "nanny nanny boo boo", because this moist rain flooding shit really kinda sucks.

He missed us, too.

It's 78F and sunny, outside.   :)

I had to take my vest off, because I was getting too hot.  Within an hour, I'll have the AC on.

It's 48 here and spitting. Yesterday was HORRIBLE. The Pawtuxet watershed is acting up again...I hope Dimo waterproofed his basement.

People were hydroplanning all over the road last night.
I also remembered how much I LOVE wet, leaf covered pavement, and almost very badly a state trooper this morning.  (He decided to lights+siren to cut through a red light, and I went into a skid trying to stop for him.  Luckily, no collision, no damage.

Yes, but we are a hardy folk, and can handle it.

Mostly by resorting to senseless violence.

Well, you'd better hurry, before we start kicking refugees back down onto their ice sheet.

Yeah, I'm waiting for the river to cut it's way across 95 again.

Temperature was hovering just around freezing point today, dry at first, I think I even saw a sliver of sun. So I went for a run, and about 2.3rds of the way it started snowing, a little. But that was fine because I was all warmed up and sweating anyway. As the weather got worse, the people on bikes passing me by looked at me as if I must be some crazy grinning bad-ass.
Conclusion, precipitation during running is just fine, as long as it starts while you're on the way.

Then, after I got home, the temp apparently raised just above freezing, and the snow turned to icy cold rain. Glad that I missed that. Being totally in tune with the elements and shit, it didn't rain any more when I went to the supermarket, but I did have to walk through cold grey slush-puppy.

Same here...in fact I think we might have hit 80 today.

It's currently 38 with 14mph winds.

The low tonight is supposed to be 26.

We bought a heating pad to put in the hut outside for the porch kittens so that they don't freeze and die. I'd invite them in but they have fleas and may be carrying parasites or diseases and get my other cats sick.

What the fuck is up with Florida?  Doesn't it realize it's FLORIDA?

We're headed back into the 40's tonight...HELLO, ALLERGIES!  30' swing always brings out the drippies.

I think Florida forgot that it's the sunshine state.
Or the sun really got mad when I yelled at it for being too bright and hot during the summer.

It's a weird arctic dip that is literally stopping at the RI border. Blame the South Pacific, again.

It's 42 currently and finally stopped raining, but the flood warning is still in effect. The river has already gone above flood stage, but it's not NEARLY as bad as what happened to it in March, but still, people living out there must be panicking. I know I'd be, and Elmwood Ave near my house is still kinda flooded (We're in the watershed). Ugh.

The forecast says snow, and like I said previously, it's totally going around us. Hahaha.

Looks like we're getting more snow at the end of the week as well.

Which would be nice.  Especially since the schools close that day, and I wont have to be a Responsible Adult for a couple of weeks, and so can snowball fight with random strangers on the street, whether they want to or not.

Woke up this morning to a typical Long Island dusting of about a quarter inch. Obviously, all my friends are crossing their fingers for a major snowdump like we got out East last year, where about two feet of snow canceled some people's finals.

Canadian police and military teams were working Tuesday afternoon to rescue about 300 people stranded after what a local official termed the most brutal storm to hit the Ontario region in 25 years.

Some people had been stuck in their vehicles for more than 24 hours following blinding snow that piled up so high it made it almost impossible to open vehicle doors.

2/3 Canadians deserved it.  :lulz:
