So does yours!!! And I have to agree, it's all about happy food on the holidays right? Even if they want green bean casserole... sigh. :lulz:

Never even thought of it. That would make 2 potatoes though.
Stuffed manicotti with my mom's homemade tomato sauce! Meatballs on the side as to appease my diet. :)
It's always Italian and low-key on Christmas. We party on Christmas Eve, in which I know we're putting out a spiral ham and a turkey. Who knows wtf everyone else will bring. This will also involve way too much rum and sambuca. It always does.
What kind of rum does everybody like? We prefer Admiral Nelson spiced rum.

I don't really like rum, but my stepsister brought me back a bottle of Brugal from the Dominican Republic last year that I've worked about half way through. It's pretty good.

Mom is partial to Mount Gay and Capt. Morgan Private Stock. I say, Sailor Jerry or GTFO.
Hmm, I'm not certain, but we do have a nice looking snapper, and we'll probably get some prawns, and either a roast chicken (which IMO it is too hot for), or some barbecue meats. Plus salads, and stuff. We also have a fruit cake.
I love summertime Xmases
ETA:
We now have ham and an arseload of cherries.
I'm havin whatever everyone else is cooking.
I am getting fucking crabs and shrimp.
Dead fucking cow, Yorkshire pudding, salad, and a few bottles of booze are the typical xmas for us.

Mental image: 100 rampaging horny crabs with strp-ons descending on a bevy of shrimp. 50% of the Shrimp flee in terror, 25% flee to keep up appearances, most of the rest pass out, and a few just lie there and try not to let everyone else realize thet they're into that.
Hm, tomorrow we're having prime rib, turkey, potatoes (mashed if my grandmother's making them), brussel sprouts, salad, cranberry relish, my husband's qabli rice (Afghan traditional "party rice" with raisins, nuts and either candied orange peel or carrots in it), dressing, cheesecake (and I'm bringing my (in)famous cheeseball and crackers as well as a homemade pecan pie).
Xmas Day: turkey, ham, crockpot cheese potatoes, crockpot pork n beans, ambrosia salad (gag), green bean casserole, rolls and pumpkin pie (I'm bringing another homemade pecan).

I think that what we're really doing is eating leftovers from Yule and lounging around Mr. Language's apartment drinking tea in our pajamas. I am beyond excited for this.
I missed cooking Thanksgiving this year, so I wanted to do something nice to make up for it:
Rosemary garlic roast leg of lamb
Roasted winter root vegetables
Salad of arugula, blood oranges, slivered fennel and toasted almonds
Chocolate souffles with cardamom creme anglaise
I hope it turns out well!
I want your recipes for that leg of lamb and the souffles, dude.
I love lamb.
