Now that "my people" are no longer in charge of the state (Now an Irish man) and the city (Now a Puerto Rican), The Feds swooped in and busted a HUGE mafia racket up here.

QuoteManocchio was charged with conspiracy and extortion for allegedly accepting protection payments from Providence's Satin Doll and Cadillac Lounge strip clubs starting as early as 1993, according to court documents filed Jan. 7 and unsealed Thursday morning.
BADA BING!
...Unfortunately. Deese guise owned da plows. :(
Oh the next few months are going to be AMAZING up here! FAGGETTABOUTIT!
Then the guy next in line takes over, nothing changes.
They made a ridiculous amount of arrests up here yesterday morning. Something like 7 families between here, NY, and NJ.
It's not over yet though, there's no way. There's going to be repercussions for this...I expect to see some fires and murders soon.

127 was the last count that I heard. Yes, witnesses/etc die. Businesses burn. Life goes on.

I'm surprised they let Taveras take mayor...It's not like the Italians to let a Hispanic do ANYTHING around here.
His future may well depend on his purchase price.

I'm just surprised that any self-respecting honky could even tell the difference between the two.

WTF is that supposed to mean?
Aww, nevermind. It was a poor attempt at a joke at the expense of white people for not being able to tell an Italian and a Latino apart. Forget I said anything.

When 55% of the state is Italian, they know.
...It's the Portuguese fuckers you gotta watch out for.

I heard about this yesterday. Mama mia. Shit's going DOWN. I have to admit, I have a sick fascination for the lore behind the mafias in the US. It's pathetic of me, it really is. I know my great grandfather actually knew some mafioso when he ghostwrote for Ol' Blue Eyes in the 40's and 50's...but I never heard what/where from, etc. Details gone a-begging. And now my grandmother's gone, so she's the last of the ones who'd know. :(
Anyway, I had no idea RI was such a hotbed of vice and villainy.
ummmm....
I just looked up Taveras' bio in PROJO....
he's Dominican.
Not Puerto Rican.
