The best part is this comment.

QuoteMessage to all who worry about global warming
First, find a eco-unfriendly plastic bag. Second, locate a strong tie wrap. Third, put plastic bag over your head, fasten very securely. If you can breathe, it is not tight enough. This will capture all the carbon you are emitting from your mouth. Leave on for 1 hour or however long it takes for you to lose consciousness. Ta Da! You just saved the world from your horrible eco sins.

Genghis Khan did also, however, introduce gunpowder weapons to the world at large.  This would seem to undermine his green credentials somewhat.  Plus the wood required for siege engines, burning people etc probably ate into his carbon credit.  I would suggest it is safe to say he was a carbon-neutral conqueror.

Plus he contributed to overpopulation (http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2003/02/0214_030214_genghis.html).

Genghis Khan was all like, "We can't use that tree for a siege engine. It has a soul, man... can you feel the soul?
Lets all sit naked in a circle and drink liquefied tofu milk and channel the oneness of the universe. Can you feel the tofu!?! Can you feel IT?!?"

Also, check out the tree-hugging hippie god that Genghis Khan worshipped:

QuoteTengri is a pure, white goose that flies constantly over an endless expanse of water, which represents time. Beneath this water, Ak Ana ("White Mother") calls out to him saying "Create". To overcome his loneliness, Tengri creates Er Kishi, who is not as pure or as white as Tengri and together they set up the world. Er Kishi becomes a demonic character and strives to mislead people and draw them into its darkness. Tengri assumes the name Tengri Ülgen and withdraws into Heaven from which he tries to provide people with guidance through sacred animals that he sends among them. The Ak Tengris occupy the fifth level of Heaven. Shaman priests who want to reach Tengri Ülgen never get further than this level, where they convey their wishes to the divine guides. Returns to earth or to the human level take place in a goose-shaped vessel.

According to Mahmud Kashgari, Tengri was known to make plants grow and the lightning flash
