True, I just thought it was amusing.
Damn
I totally like to apply to be the Canadian version of Glenn Beck
This advertisement is blatant propaganda on the part of the Liberals, and a clear attempt to slur the Conserative Party of Canada's good name. Truly shameful that the Liberals and their democracy-hating coalition need to fall to this depth to lower the national political discourse. I'm so glad the Harper Government doesn't sink to this level of mud-slinging.

We're suppose to be in an election right now, but I haven't heard anyone even discuss it yet, and I'm at a university full of idealistic youngings. No one cares.

Universities are well-known hotbeds of Liberal ideology. Contact your local Conserative Party candidate and ask him what HE is doing to repeal the Liberal's long-gun registry and reduce the GST!

Even the liberals have to struggle to take the cities from the NDP. Hell the Green Party usually kicks the Conservatives asses up here.

Fragmentation of the liberal vote, I'm afraid.
The political spectrum of Canada looks like this right now:
<--------[NDP]---[Green Party]--------[Liberal]-||-----------------------------[Conservative]------>
[Bloc Quebecois]
Note: The Conservative Party is roughly equivalent to the US Democrat party. The Bloc Quebecois is less about Left and Right and more about Quebec.The current Conservative Party is the result of a merger between two earlier right-wing parties, which means that it gets near 100% of the right-wing vote. The Left vote, on the other hand, despite being much larger, was fractured between the three parties meaning that the Conservative Party was able to win the election with 35% of the vote ( a "minority" government). Harper's main goal is to get a majority government out of this election, so that he can build moar prisons and F-35s without having to pay attention to the stinky liberals.
The bloc has a bit of a presence in New Brunswick too with the Acadians. Ya the spectrum is completely fucked up right now, and of course all of the other leaders have this compulsive urge to imitate Harper's fakeness so no one runs a half interesting campaign and so no one cares. Therefore everyone who actually votes falls via party lines and districts.
Sadly if you want my prediction (and Im pretty bad at these). If this election continues as is I don't think Harper gets his majority but remains as a minority. Otherwords.. complete waste of time. Only change I can see happening is the Green's continue to dwindle some of the NDP support, especially with the youth. But to be honest it's way to early to tell .

Then it was probably a smear campaign from the Left.
This sort of thing actually happens BTW, but usually the people posting the astroturf are paid employees of media companies.
The fact that it's happening is usually kept secret, only discussed on intra-office email. The recent leak of HB Gary emails gave us proof that political parties (as well as the government) actually hire these companies for these purposes. They even have specialized "Persona Management Software", aka something that helps you keep track of your alts, which proxies they use, accounts and their cookies, etc.
(I'll post more about this on O:MF in a moment, had a post cooking about this for a few weeks, nearly forgot :) )
