On Friday night, I raised a glass to the Terrible Old Man.
Today, I raise another. Safe journeys.
I'll join you in that this evening, LMNO.
As will I... one for the Terrible Old Man.
My typical salute to the passing of someone who will be missed is a lit candle and a prayer.
But I think I'll give this raising a glass thing a try.
As will I, Rog. :(

*raises glass*
Also
Tonight, I'll raise another.
Breaking my "no drinking at home alone" rule tonight to raise one.
Tomorrow night, I will raise one.
Glad you're back. Hope things didn't suck too badly up there in Canuckistan.
Additional condolences about being in Vegas.

It was a perfect Hamilton day for a funeral. Grey, cold, and windy.
And The Terrible Old Man was still conscious when I got there, so I had a chance to talk to him. By the next morning, he was in a coma and medicated to the gills. Two days later, he died peacefully. If you have to pick your exit, you could do a lot worse than he did.
I'm going to post his eulogy later on...The REAL eulogy, the one the family was horrified by, the very sort he'd have wanted.
I'm very glad you got to speak with him, that means a lot.

....I really want to see this eulogy.
Also glad you got to talk to him.
Good to hear that you were able to speak with him. And that eulogy must be incredible. Sounds like it's exactly how I'd want to be sent off.
Sounds like you got to say your goodbye--I know that counts for a lot. I'll wait impatiently with everyone else for your eulogy, and I'll secretly hope you're going to share it with your family despite their horror at what it might hold in store... ;)
Sorry about the Terrible Old Man, Roger.
I'm glad you got to talk to him before. I think it's better if you have that chance.
Will make sure to raise a glass or some hell in honor of him tonight.
