I decree that tomorrow is now Saturday, not Wednesday.
Stay home!
I apologize in advance to those spags who would normally have Wednesday off but work on Saturdays.
But, it HAD to be done.
I'm sure you will understand.
Best regards,
Reverend What's-His-Name?

Please, that's oldest fucking line in the book.
Providence is going to be a pressure cooker for the next few days. I think Florida is going to be cooler. Welcome to summer, motherfuckers.
OH SHIT THAT MEANS I GOTTA PACK FASTER! On the other hand, I'm getting the fuck outta Dodge!
I have today and Saturday off anyway.
What do I win?
I've got this old coffee table I need to get rid of.
You can have it for free! The only catch is you gotta come pick it up.
[TOTALLY OFF TOPIC AND I APOLOGIZE BUT I DIDN'T THINK THIS WAS WORTH A NEW TOPIC]Hey Rev... I was reading this thing the other day - http://www.aclu.org/drug-law-reform/drug-testing-public-assistance-recipients-condition-eligibility
and I saw this:
QuoteAn Oklahoma study found that a questionnaire was able to accurately detect 94 out of 100 drug abusers. The questionnaire was also useful in detecting alcohol abusers, something drug tests fail to accomplish.[10]
[10] Oklahoma Dept. of Human Servs, "TANF: Focus on Substance Abuse" (March 5, 1998)
but I'm not able to find an actual copy of the questionnaire. Do you know more about that? It sounds interesting.
Given that this is from Oklahoma, I'm going to wager they are talking about the AC-OK. Which I know is a tool that is used quite a bit here in Maine. In fact, I'm pretty sure our Office of Substance Abuse requires the licensed agencies use it as part of their assessment protocol.
In fact, the two counselors my grant employs uses it. You can find it in this document:
http://www.ccsme.org/userfiles/files/AC-OK%20Screening%20tool.pdf
There are a whole slew of substance abuse assessment tools out there. Another one that I have intimate knowledge of is the JASAE, Juvenile Automated Substance Abuse Evaluation. That one not only can tell whether or not a kid has a substance abuse problem, it can pretty much give you a specific diagnosis and recommended level of treatment, whether it is just some education, outpatient counseling, or full blown residential treatment.
If you want some good night-time reading, Google TIP 31 and you can get a free copy of a booklet that details a lot of these tools.
thanks rev!
this is fuel, BTW, in an argument about why mandatory drug testing of welfare recipients is inefficient. Shit's fucked up!
