Post by: LMNO on June 07, 2011, 09:49:55 PM
REMINDER: Frost Heaves is playing McGann's pub in North Station this Saturday.

You RI spags said you'd come for a meatup so I could fulfill my holy quest as laid forth by TGRR.

So you fuckers better not let me down.

That was before the Highland Games were announced, damnit. We'd have to go from fucking HOPKINTON to Boston. Not just Providence, no, motherfucking South County. The fucking EDGE OF THE WORLD. And we'd have to drive.

DRIVE.

INTO.

BOSTON.

I'm in Boston, so I can just go. And I will. Since I told LMNO in person about 6 hours ago that I would. Dimo, I'm willing to cover your commuter rail to and from as long as you pay for the "to" bit. Hell, I have a commuter rail ticket to Providence in my wallet that I didn't use because Eve gave me a lift back to Boston from The Meetup TM.

Where you sleep, however, I absolve myself from.

Last train out of South Station is at 11:50 I believe. So if it's after that, he has to wait until 2am to take the Peter Pan, and by that time, the MBTA stops running because they SUCK.

Fortunately, you CAN walk from North Station to South Station in about 15 minutes.

To be fair to Suu here, and to give you non-New Englanders a heads up, you're better off untying the Gordion knot than finding parking in Boston anywhere close to some place where something is happening. The messed up part is that most Bostonians have better sense than to try and find parking in Boston, so where do all these cars come from?

That said, I would love to see a bunch of Providence spags in Boston for a Frost Heaves show.

Happens A LOT in winter. But, you know, with multiplication thrown on top. And that's just to go about 2 miles.

93 is always a nightmare regardless, and sometimes you have to take that to get to 95.

That said, you Southerners still should show up.

I've had a solid routine of sneaking off the Pike in Newton and coasting into Boston via Comm Ave/Brighton for two years. It's going to be unfortunate (:x)when I move to the Fenway area and have to deal with driving IN Boston.

Actually if you live in the Boston area long enough you eventually learn the mystic driving patterns for different areas that summon the parking gods.
Seriously that's why the lack of a grid lay out in the city.  The road system is for magical invocation.

I mostly rely on the MBTA, so my findings are based off of the whole "just as slow, less expensive" observation.

Ok, seriously.  95N to 93N, South Station off ramp, Atlantic ave.  Use the Aquarium parking garage.  You're now a five minute walk from the club.

So, in order to make this show, we would have to leave South County by no later than 5. It will take us an hour to get back to Providence, because it just does. So, as long as we shower/change/eat/shit whatever the fuck we have to do and are out the door by 7, we can get to Boston by 8, which allows us the approximate hour to find parking on a Saturday night.

This can be done. It may require folding space and me videoing Richter losing his shit at the wheel, but it CAN be done.

People from Maine. They have to watch for moose and stuff, and still expect them in the city.  :lulz:

Boston tip-
The speed limit is whatever it says plus 15 mph if you don't want to get pulled over, and 25 if you think there are no cops around.

Seriously. 3 hours from Manhattan, 1 hour from Boston and 6 hours from Montreal. Everything you'd ever need to see in the Northeast is well within a day's drive.

Our beaches are pretty or polluted, or BOTH, our cities are ancient, and our food is mostly deep-fried sea cockroach. We have way too many people and they're ALL ANGRY. Like Dimo, he's an asshole!

I'm married to an asshole! I'd totally get along with Dimo!

Yeah, I think that's what I'll do and somehow make it up to Cram since I didn't get a chance to meet up with him (though he tried hard, poor guy!) last time I was out.  I'll round out the long weekend by either coming earlier in the week or staying later after Sunday...

Can LMNO go 16 hours without fapping?  I hope you realize what you're asking, EoC!

Wait, what?  I just figured that was part of the set.   :?

I'm sorry, the fact that I have to have my cervix scraped out and that I fought all day yesterday double-teamed my IBS and I accidentally my bathroom THREE TIMES last night.

I'm also sore as fuck now, and I have an amazing bruise on my boob. I will even send you a picture if you don't believe.

Since my quest was to assist LMNO in his quest, is mine fulfilled too?

I was all messed up after a long day + tournament.
I am better prepared for this DOOM.  Better make it a double.
